Driving to Winter Nats: Possible Hwy 89 problem

I just noticed this in the news.

I appears Hwy 89 has some issues south of Page. I am driving to Phoenix and had planned on using Hwy 89.....maybe I'll be taking another route. Drive safe.

Take 89A after Kanab. It goes through Fredonia instead of Page. Much prettier, and more fun to drive, without taking anymore time... I make that drive a few times a year.
