SNOW!!!

Postby FLYNHIGH » Tue Dec 06, 2005 8:41 pm

We have been blasted by a winter storm... (just incase you live under a rock) that will probably prohibit most of us from riding outdoors (ie sprints, etc)

I found an excellent way to clear snow off your driveway. Get a landscaping rake, use the flat end of it and push/pull snow off the cement! It works way better than a shovel and is not as hard on your back. Now I just need to figure out how to build a jump out of snow. If anyone knows how.... LET ME KNOW!!!

This is how me and a friend built a jump out of snow:
He has a big mound of dirt in his yard that was COVERED in snow, he also jhas one of those "Flight Deck" Plastic Jumps. We put that up to the mound and packed the back end of it with snow and kinda formed a little table top, its like 7 feet long and about 4 feet high. We just got done building it tonight and are waiting for it to freeze. we've been getting snow skates, bungie cords, and our training bikes, and were pulling eace other off of the jump on the snow-skates. It was awesome, we were doing like 180's and stuff. can't wait to jump it when it freezes, cause if the snow doesn't freeze, than your front tire will just go right through the jump.

But what else you can do is just make a BIG pile of snow, and form it into a jump, and then pour COLD water onto it and it freezes faster. then just jump around and have fun!

1 more thing. If you get a bunch of biker friends around, its really fun to go in the streets or if you have a big driveway and play footdown, cause it is really slick when we get snow and it makes it more challenging cause you are always sliding around.. Its fun though...
