HELP ASAP!

Postby bmxchris73 » Fri Jun 22, 2007 4:45 pm

I got my new Shimano Saint cranks in and I went to a bike shop and they said I need a different bottom bracket. they said I need An American bottom bracket. Is that correct? If so where can I find one of these bottom brackets that will fit my Staats XXL frame so that I can get my Saints on ASAP.

Chris,
Your frame has a euro BB not an american. Can you take a picture and send it to me?

Chris
Your Saint cranks should have come with the bottom bracket in the box. If you have a new set of them and they came in a grey box then all you need is in there to put them on. The Staats frame is Euro bottom bracket and the Saints are euro too.
The cups are grey and thread on

Patience grasshopper!

We'll get you taken care of on Monday Chris. You know, the thing that I've noticed over the years, is most LBS are truly clueless when it comes to BMX racing and bikes. There was one in Rapid City, SD that would always try and sell you something you didn't need and then talk a good game, like they new what they were talking about. Not to mention any shop names but it starts with a B and ends with an M...They had me so pissed while I was in Korea. All I needed them to do is switch Ashlee's 1 1/8 wheelset with an 18" wheelset on her GT mini and put a new set of 1 3/8 tires on Austin's Diamond Back Jr. Long story short, Brandi went to get the bikes and starts with a B and ends wiith an M had the 18" wheels on Austin's DB Junior and the 1 3/8 tires on Ashlee's mini, then tried to sell Brandi new brakes because they said they couldn't get the ones on their bikes to work....DAH

Bottom line...let your LBS stick to freestyle, road and Mtn bikes. Don't ever go there again for work! After what I saw when we built your Staats, I rate them right up there with starts with a B and ends with an M...LOL!

You better be at Tooele tonight or you'll be on probation.
