Anyone want to check out a webcast??

Postby J Gallo » Thu Jan 04, 2007 11:21 am

I believe I have figured out a way to post a webcast, cheaply with decent quality. I'd like to get some feedback from everyone letting me know how it looks. I've got a test going today (you'll be able to see me working in my home office), and I will create a more "permanent" webcast after I work out a few bugs. Not only is there video, but I believe audio should be coming thru as well.

Here is the link:

Webcast!

Let me know what you think!

"We don't have a Shi- load, but we have a few..."

LOL

I just caught a few words of your phone conversation!

Hey the web cast looks awesome. There was a few breaks in the sound, but that might have been for censorship...;)

Looking forward the the webcast and video coverage of racing this year! It should be sweet!

Also- how are the donations coming along? I've been meaning to get you some cash for this whole set up!

Anyone else helping out? or is everyone doing what I'm doing...

..."almost donating!" ?

See you in Reno?

hehe.. sorry about the phone conversation. I thought I had the audio muted. Oops :)

Unfortunately I will not be in Reno, I'll be staying behind and rooting on our Utah BMX'ers from my computer!

Well, so far so good. The first test seemed to go pretty well. I'll probably test a little more tonight, and maybe all day tomorrow.

Hopefully this will work well during the first real test at our next indoor races!! :)

You tested the audio with me, it sounded good. Can't wait to see the video camera hooked up to it!

You've turned into a multi-media wizard as of late, I dig.

I had the video up, you didn't see it?

I'll be running it again tomorrow to try out some things.

I saw everything just fine, you, the computers, the spin bike, and a hole in your ceiling? :)

I was talking about my interest in seeing the camcorder hooked up to it for the races, like we talked about.

oh.. DOH!! sorry.. didn't see the "video" of video camera... HAHA

yeah, i'm kind of excited about that too. I'm not sure if their will be much call for a webcast of just a regular single point race, but I'm guessing that for our SCQ's and RCQ's that we might get some out of town interesting in listening/viewing the races. Hopefully it will be dialed in by then :)

Stout,

I know there is a way I can record it from my broadcasting side, but not totally sure about the viewing side. I'll check into it and see what I can find out.

The camera will be back up today for more testing, so if others get a chance, let me know what you think! If you don't want to post here in the forums, you can always email me @ jgallo@utahbmx.com

If anyone is able, be my guest!! Unfortunately, I don't think the video will be of "recordable" quality, but let me know how it goes!

Also, if anyone has ANY suggestions about broadcasting audio/video that might be better than the option I've chosen, please let me know. Keep in mind I do not have the financial support for special equipment or monthly broadcasting fees :)

Now.... if someone would like to sponsor the webcast?? Maybe a linked banner above the broadcast window? :)
