Another great turnout at RCBMX

Postby bmxmomof2racers » Mon May 08, 2006 12:12 pm

We had another race Saturday at Razor City BMX!! The turnout for this early in the season has been great! We had 74 riders in 17 motos. With 6 people taking advantage of the 1-day membership.

There were some issues with moto maker, then we ran out of ink in our printer with no extra ink at the track so there were some issues with late posting of motos. Everyone seemed to handle it pretty good and we learnd a valuable lesson. I think we were more tense about the issues in the moto shack then the parents and riders were that were waiting!

It was a big day with lots of events happening. We've been selling raffle tickets for the past two weeks as a fund raiser for the track so we had the drawing on Saturday. We sold tickets for a cash drawing of $1000.00 for first, $500.00 for second, and $250 for third. We also gave the racer who sold the most tickets $200.00 Cash. It was slow going to begin with but a few families really stepped up their ticket sale in the end and the raffle was a huge success. It is great to have some money in the checkbook for the season. Teryn sold the most tickets so she won the $200.00. She also sold the 2nd prize winner to a neighbor!

Mike Weaver also came over from Rapid City to do a clinic after the races! We had 21 riders take advantage of the camp from novice to expert. There were many compliments from the riders. They felt like they learned a lot from Mike so we plan on having him back to do many more clinics this year. We are trying lots of new things to bring back riders and encourage new riders to sign up. So far all the hard work seems to be working out for us!

I will keep you all informed!

Toni
