BS PS2 Open: it's on like Donkey Kong!

FULL SIZE

How this came about:
--------------------------------
While in Phoenix, Robby and I were talking about ATV OffRoad Fury. A challenge was made, by myself, that I could beat Robby (who would have the Ravage 1000 -the "fastest" bike in the game [full stats]) with a Yamaha Banshee (lower stats than the Ravage 1000). For those of you who haven't played this game, it is an action packed racing game!
--------------------------------

The Race:
--------------------------------
The competition will be played on two outdoor national tracks and two stadium tracks. One outdoor track will be picked by Travis and the other Robby. Same for the stadium track. The winner is determined by who has the lowest points at the end. Points are based on finishes. If a tie is reached, a random person watching will get to pick the track and whoever wins that race is crowned the champion.

Travis will be aboard the Yamaha Banshee.

Robby will be aboard the Ravage 1000.

Who will win and be crowned the Champion? Stay tuned at the first race at Rad Canyon BMX, May 4th.

Also, video will be taken of this competition and posted on flynhighbmx.com!!!
--------------------------------

Who do you think will win? Feel free to discuss and BS on this thread!

Travis and Robbie,

ATV Fury is indeed a great game. Lots of fun and much easier than my preferred game: Gran Tourismo 4. As a matter of fact I think Bennett learned most of what he knows about BMX racing from ATV Fury.

Okay, enough small talk. I will also lay down the challenge. I will throw hats into this ring as well and would like to challenge both Travis and Robbie to add Bennett and myself to the contest.

What? Are you guys shaking your heads thinking that an old man can't stomp you? Pah! Talk to the hand! Think a little guy like Bennett can't have you breathing his exhaust and eating the dirt from his roosts? Think again Grasshoppa...think again. We will even let you two pick the courses because we know we can win on any turf ;)

In order to facilitate this challenge we might be able to network two machines and race at the same time. Or...we could do elimination rounds. Take your pick.

The gauntlet has been thrown down...

Well I must say that you have a valid proposition, Curtis; however, none of you will have to worry about eating my roost cause I'll be so far ahead of all of you! Have you ever felt what it is like to get LAPPED!?!?! That's the only time you'll be eating my roost! WIRE-TO-WIRE BABY!

Since I will be smoking you in ATV, Curtis, I would kill you in GT. Since I am the GRAND... oh wait that title is already taken... I mean GREAT GRAND MASTER CHAMPION of all gaming... I see no point in racing you in GT.

Anyone else out there who thinks they can beat me? Post so here and bring your BS and game face...

As far as how the challenge may be run... what does it take to actually network PS2s? The PS2 that I have has a box on the back of it with a ethernet plug in it, I assume that is part of the networking... Does ATV have networking capabilities? I know ATV 2+ does... but those SUCKS! The first one has the best tracks by far!

Ah, the Grasshoppa has strong words, but words are just that...words. The only lapping you will be doing my friend is lapping up the mess you will have laid for yourself when I pummel you into the memory of virtual berms.

And I will take the challenge on GT4 (or GT3) anyday, anytime. I am the ruler supreme of all things GT and you will end up with skidmarks all over you, and not just in your skivies ;)

I have never networked the PS2, but I can borrow a friends and try this weekend. If we could get a network tourney going that would be awesome. All the better to pound you with Grasshoppa...;)

I'll be sure to spray some cooking oil on my racer so when I go FLYN by you, your roost, you, your tears, and your bike so slidn by. Non-stick is the way to go!

None of us will have to worry about Robby, with his slingshot and all, and the pull the banshee has out of the hole, he'll be shut out before you can say "GO!"

Elvis on VBMX posted the post below. I thought is was the funniest post I have ever ready anywhere and this topic would be an appropriate place to put it. Travis and Robbie, I want you two to think real hard on the words here. When the voices start talking we may all end up in the snack bar ;)

______________________________________________________________

You want to talk about your numberplates? You want to pull pictures out of the scrapbook? You want to jot down your memories of past glory?

That's a good idea, you should do that, then lay them out by the finish line so you have something to look at and help dry those tears.

You want a resume? Here's my resume: I'm insane.

You're getting in the gate with a crazy man. I have, in the time of my misspent youth, had to clear out a bar or two. That feeling I get in the gate is that same feeling when it's do-it-yourself closing time.

Sometimes I stab myself with a fork just to feel alive.

That, that is what you'll be racing with. You can be all "Oh, I got great pull," whatever. The turns mean at worst, at absolute worst, you'll be coming back at me a couple of times during the race. And you'll be all "I hope I have style while hucking this roller" and I'll be all "I hope the voices don't tell me to kill again until later when it's dark." And that's all it takes, one of those talking dogs appear by the side of the track giving me an order and you, me, the moto, we all go over the berm and don't stop rolling until we're inside the funnel cake booth.

Think about that when you're getting in the gate on your nice pretty clean race bike. Think about that as you look over and mine's all dented and scratched up, the visor's torn off my helmet, I got a black eye, and I keep talking to something under my jersey. That stuff didn't happen 'cause I'm all about the love. Ain't no love, the cadence starts and love lies bleeding in the sand, bleeding, sand, got it?

Enjoy your drive to Rockford.

=============

What? Here? Oh, hello, this is Elvis's court-ordered anger management coach.

I give up.

Please, God, take me away from here. Please (he just ate my cat!).

This will be an exciting race, next time you guys decide to do this you should play MX vs. ATV Unleashed. I LOVE that game.

Alex: ATV Offroad Fury is WAY better than MX Unleashed. JK, I've never actually played it, just watched. The tracks didn't look as good as ATV OF, but I guess you can't judge a book by it's cover!

Curtis: LOL!!!

dude with you on the banshee you have no chance in winning against that ravage that thing just halls ass
yeah MX VS ATV Unleashed is pretty awsome but the motorcycles are sooooooooo much faster than the ATVS its not even fair but ATV OF does have better national trackes but the indoor tracks in ATV VS MX Unleased are so much better they are so realistic and everything
this is going to be great i cant wait to watch this race
go big, or go home

redlinerider: you may have seen the AI (computer racers) or some of your buddies use the Banshee, but you haven't seen me ride it. The track and my racer are like one! UNSTOPPABLE!!!

Also, redlinerider, think about this. From the ATV Tips thing at the loading screen, "It is better to ride consistant and smooth rather than at top speed all the time."

Plus, the Banshee jumps like a dream. You all better be preparing yourselves for some of the craziest lines you'll have ever seen! You may think some of them to be impossible, but I GOT THEM DOWN!!!

Why are you worried being mean? This is a BS thread... that is what your supposed to do!!! Anythings goes, and that's why these type of threads so great! Honestly I'm surprised more people aren't posting on a thread where what you say doesn't really matter...

Anyway, back to your regular scheduled BSing...

redlinerider: DUDE!!! Outdoor is where it's at with the Banshee!!! Infact, I think I beat my brother on every outdoor track except Presidio, which is all HP and pull, unless I change the gearing of course. The Ravage 1000, may go faster on flat ground, but when it comes to big jumps, rhythm sections, etc. the Banshee flattens the Ravage.

When it comes to indoors, I would say Banshee and the Ravage are about the same (speed). The winners of those races will be determined by who is the smoothest and who can jump the farthest!!! Which WILL BE ME!!!

Are you callin me out, redlinerider? I'll squash you on any track, anytime, anywhere!!!
