So what do you REALLY think about the S.L. County fair races
So while I was waiting to get into the gate tonight at practice I heard two kids saying how much they hated the track cause it was all soft and everyone kept sliding out and they couldn't pick up hardly any speed... Then I heard two other people telling each other that they thought the track was cool, easy to jump things and them daring each other to jump the pro section. Really personally I thought the track was pretty cool. I thought it was way fun. I personally could pick up alot of speed and the gate was wide enough so I could actually balance easier than I thought. So What do you think?

I think that people complaining about the track need to go around and visit more tracks. This track is fun. Bennett liked it and so did I. Yeah, it had some soft spots, but 'back in the day' there was no such thing as a track without soft spots. When the riders have to factor in the inconsitency of the surface it really teaches them (a) how to ride, and (b) how to read the track.
When you factor in how much work had to be done with too little of the wrong kind of dirt, I think the track is MUCH better than what could have been. Just ride it and have fun. Tell the nay-sayers and excuse makers to practice more and try harder![Wink ;)](./images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)

For the complainers, yes it is not like the regular outdoor tracks with big jumps and the dirt is soft and loose, however it was good for what we had to work with.
If you dont like it, try ways to make it challenging. Try new lines and different ways to make it fun.
also remember we are doing this for the love of the sport and getting more kids into it. They probably think the track is way hard and very cool. Most of the people in the stands have not seen anything like this.

My favorite part of the track is the transition from the step-up into the sweeper. Your bike handling skills have to be 'game-on' as you make the transition or you are going down or too slow. Another thing I liked about the track is that it is not a pump track. If someone is going to do well on this track, they are going to have to pedal.
Like JJ suggested, find ways to make it challenging and interesting!

I like how the first straight doesn't really have much obstacles. That way it kind of forces you to pedal to pick up speed. Instead of just pumping. I like how you guys built the pro section. My friend wants to jump it but he's afraid he might endo like the mounhtain bike guy did. I told him its basically as big as the last double on the second straight at Rad. Well at least it looks that big. I just told him that he has to flex a little more(but I'm really not quite sure, I've never jumped one!
Imagine that!! A BMX track were you have to pedal to win !!! Awesome !!!
Sometimes the winner is decided by attitude !!! As in .... Who can adjust to the conditions the fastest and your attitude is a big part of that !!
Try this ... on your way to the track tell yourself " I don't care what the track is like I will do what it takes to win !!! " The track is the same for everyone, I will adjust the best and have a positive attitude and get it done !! Period !!
If you let negative thoughts in your head like "I hate this track it sucks" I promise you you will not race your best !!
Everyone should be grateful to have a place to go out and ride !! I know I am !! See you all tonight,TP
PS. What happened to Fazzio? I noticed in the pictures he got hurt ! It looked like maybe a shoulder?

In my 25 years of BMX the one thing that has gotten worse are the complainers! And what makes it ironic is that the tracks are much smoother and manicured today than the tracks of 15 - 20 years ago. No matter the situation, try to keep it positive.
- Be grateful we have a track to ride on at all.
- We are pretty dang lucky to be invited and showcase our sport at the fair.
- Be thankful for those who put in the time and energy to build YOU a track to ride and race on.
- Yeah the track has small obstacles but try and learn something new that will help improve your skills.
- Have someone time your laps around the track and try to beat your time.
- Enjoy the opportunity to hang out with some of the coolest people on the planet.... UTAH BMXers!
If you cannot do any of these things then you dont have to come out at all
HAVE FUN and KEEP IT POSITIVE!
