I've been wanting to try out MTB racing. It seems fun but I'd really rather race bmx if I only had one choice(Of course my dad would most likely say, "what would you rather do, race bmx ot MTB?" so there is no hope in asking.)

Here's the info I received from Staats!
Staats' Drew Powers and Jason Halverson attended the NORBA Mountain Bike
National at Brian Head, Utah August 5-7th and competed in the Dual
Slalom event on prototype aluminum Staats MTX frames. Both riders built
the new frames the day before the race and felt good enough the race
with confidence. Jason Halverson qualified 2nd in the 30-39 expert class
then raced to bring home a gold metal for 1st place in the Saturday
competition. Drew Powers qualified 7th in the semi pro class but did not
make it past the round of 16 after close battle.
Jason with his Staats MTX after the big win
Staats new frame is built with double-butted 7005 aluminum then double
heat treated for strength and durability. Special features include
custom CNC dropouts with a replaceable dropout hanger; disc brake taps,
Staats' trademark seat tube cross brace and new velocitube chain stays.
The geometry has been refined for increased acceleration and quicker
turning. The weight is only 4.5lbs.
