Update on Sheldon Dale?
Update on Sheldon Dale?
Sheldon went down hard in the rhythm section yesterday at RAD's RFL, injuring his knee. Any updates?
I hope it was just a bad sprain.

Hello,
Here is the update. Sheldon broke his right leg in 3 places and shattered some bone. He broke the tibia. That is the big bone under the knee.
He will have surgury next week. I will keep you posted.
What happened is he got a little squirrelly in the rythum section and tapped his brake a little and thought he had recovered it but then he started going over his bars and his right foot came unclipped and he pile drived the next obstacle. He heard it break and knew it was bad.
Thanks Zach (EMT) and everyone else for there help after Sheldon's crash. It is nice to know that in the wake of an emergency, the whole Utah BMX family is there to help with whatever needs to be done. Thanks to the Kelley's and the Eglintine's for helping with my kids. It is a relief to know that they were in good hands.
Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers.

Dang Darla. I am really sorry to hear about that. I hope the healing goes well. The Dales will be in the Newkirks thoughts and prayers for sure.
Was this in the main? I saw most of the races, but we were packing up when the old-guy 20"ers ran. I wanted to get back over and watch, but didn't make it. I am not good watching injuries so that might have been a good thing.

Dale, If you're feeling really good with the pain meds and you're still on oxygen, try sticking your finger up your nose. When I was in the hospital, I remember the room turning a lot after a few shots of morphine. I put my finger up my nose and my nostrils were enlarged. I almost touched my brain, I just know it. Those drugs are awesome. Who cares if each shot of morphine cost $26, it's priceless to try something like that.
