MISSING BIKE!!!!

Postby ronnyg801 » Sun Mar 13, 2005 6:14 pm

Allright, my bike is missing, last time I saw it was at Rad Canyon last racing season ('04 season). It was left there in the storage spot between the bathrooms (Dave was trying to help my sell it because I was not able to make it out to every event and Dave is a very nice guy) Hopefully it has not walked off :?

Here is what it is/has on it:

I will start with the first probably most noticed piece, the 28 tooth front sprocket on XTR cranks on an all black bike with no sitckers, home made padset, neo-prean* held on by velcro.

S&M-RV(race version) 21"tt, euro bottom bracket, internal headset
S&M-RV forks, black
S&M-RV handle bars, black
S&M Redneck LT(light) stem, black
Campignelo* hidden headset
Shimano XTR brake lever (dk gray)
S&M grips (black w/ gray ends
Thompson seat post, black, uncut
Titanium/carbon road bike seat (I believe said "sls" or "slr" on the side)
Salsa seat post clamp, black
Shimano XTR crank set, dk gray
Shimano DX pedals (platforms) lighter gray/silver
28t chain ring
Shimano chain
Shimano XTR rear V-brakes, dk gray

WHEEL SET:
Sun rhino-lite 36 hole black with raw(alloy) side wall
Profile cassette hubs (pro/full size model),black
Profile titanium compact drive 10t(freewheel/sprocket whatever)
front wheel is straight laced
rear wheel is cross laced on the drive side, straight laced on the non drive side, black spokes, black nipples
S&M mainline tires front and rear
Redline chain tensioners, black

This bike may be all black but cannot be missed!

If anyone has any info it would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for looking!

Wow. I hope you get that bike back. That ride is built to the nines.

I am assuming it is a locked storage area. Do you think the county (or an errant county employee) may have 'confiscated' it for some reason? Might be worth a check. I sincerely hope this was just a mixup.

What was with the 28 tooth front?

I really don't think that the county confiscated the bike....... the whole complex was broken into all the shed etc. I really wish we knew who broke into the complex because if we find out the people will be turned over to the police. this time it's really going to cust some money to fix what the people broke.

Thats jacked up, but I guess kinda expected since the facility is nearly deserted for nearly six months. I am no cop, but I would say it is probably just kids in the area. That bike is probably still in the area as well. Damn shame though since these rodents usually cause more damage than they end up actually stealing.

I hope it is a mix up too.

The 28t front is there along with a 10t rear which if I remember correctly is the equivelant to a 43.5(if not something pretty close). The reason for it, to be different, to save weight: less sprocket weight, less cog weight, quite a bit less chain weight.

It sucks, I wont deny that some of it is due to ignorance on my part. I figured "well hell it is in a locked up storage space no more un-safe than my garage". Til today it didnt even cross my mind that it could have possibly been gone.

I suppose at the ripe old age of 22 I still have a ton to learn, hehe. Even though I have had numerous things stolen from me. seems I never learn. Then again if a theif wants something they will get it. Alarms, locks, guard dogs can all be breeched.

Thanks again,
Ronny

RONNY .. WE'LL ALL KEEP OUR EYES OPEN FOR YOUR BIKE. LIKE CURTIS SAID IT'S PRETTY MESSED UP THAT SOMETHING LIKE THIS HAS TO HAPPEN. HOPEFULLY WE'LL BE ABLE TO CATCH THE PERSON THAT HAS IT.
MY GUESS ON THE BREAK IN WAS THAT IT WAS SOME KIDS OUT GETTING INTO MISCHIEF. DOUBTFUL A COUNTY WORKER SNAGGED IT (NOT IMPOSSIBLE OF COURSE)

WE'LL BE WATCHING FOR IT.

ronnie
since it was locked up inside the shed was the lock on the ground or any reminance of the lock? Who has a key to the lock in the shed. Was there metal chunks or any signs that it was cut? The only other two bikes in the state like ronnies is chris and panty. i am the only one with the s&m crusier. If anyone finds it Dope will give them free plates for the year. I hope that the people who took the bike return it. If we find the people they will wish that they had turned it over to the police because once you mess with the FAMILY you end up swimming with the fishes.

Jonas and I were talking about this, we decided- The door at the facility is "punk kids getting into mischief!"-proof!

I'm no PI, but my money is on someone with a key. Have you contacted everyone who was in the place over the winter?

Keep at it!

Jason there is no key for the door it's a combo lock it's been the same for 7 years, it could have been anyone but nothing else in the room was touched. there was 3 bikes in the room one one I heard gone was ronnie's.?????? the county has to keep the lock the same because they have to get in there to work on things. I've been in there a couple of times during the winter and I don't remember ever seeing his bike in there. the only bikes I know that were in there was a crupi, alliant and a powerlite. in fact to tell you the truth when I cleaned and straightened the room with Dave, we don't remember seeing it there at that time????
