Rock Springs Indoors, BIG weekend, Pros...Who's going??

Postby bnd » Thu Feb 17, 2005 5:28 pm

It's that time again, Rock Springs is hosting their biggest race of the year & its gonna be a doozy! The 3rd annual Pro Challenge is also happening with a very nice pro purse up for grabs. The arena is great, lots of seating, heated, Steve Spencer is going up to help out with the track building, Supercamp is in town & best of all, its one of the most friendly towns you could ever hope to race in.

5 hours from the Denver area & 3 hours from Salt Lake City.

Need alittle more info other than what's listed below? Feel free to contact Mike Kelly at 801-244-5164.

I have been trying to pump up and exploit the RS race coming up. I gave the ABA all the info and they posted it up on their website and they are making a butt-load of flyers to hand out to everyone at the Winter Nationals this weekend along with announcements all weekend long!!! THANKS JOHN DAVID AND THE REST OF THE ABA CREW!

Web Master J' should be posting up all the info in the NEWS section on the front page of our electronic bible/journal.... UTAHBMX.com, duh!
I have also sent it out to other websites and regional BMX supporters. Bruce got a thread going on it on VintageBMX.com.... THANKS b'!!!
Keep spreading the word everyone to support our kitty-corner cowboy-cousins :D

Looking forward to a GREAT time in Rock Springs!
Steve

Too bad it is the same weekend as Nellis  That's where we are headed UNLESS it keeps raining.

Ironing my Wranglers, polishing up my Tony Lama's and filling up my 10-gallon hat for my trip to Y-O-mun (Wyoming in Utard slang)

I did the same with Bill C. at the ABA a few days ago, great minds think alike. I also posted at the Colorado BMX site - Frontrange BMX, Vintage BMX & was thinking of flowing Jerry at BMX Mania an e-mail but I think that would be better left up to the ABA.

I am going up Saturday morning but I'm not sure if I even have 1 race in me. My back has been KILLING me for the past week & coming off of the Kidney stone thing the previous week, I'm in sorry shape to say the least. I'll try to step up for at least Saturday night in 20". Hut tubbing & stretching from here on out.

Also, anybody down with alittle OS get together with Beau & myself after the races Saturday night, cocktails at the Outlaw Inn bar?

RIGHT ON B'! I was emailing Wayne McCabe and he said you had already got the media blitz going on in Coors Country.
I got the info' over to Landrum at da' Mania and he should have it up soon. Sometimes it takes a couple of reminders but it will be up.
It should be a well attended other than the NBL race going on at the same time may divert some riders. The pro purse continues to rise as there was $1500.00 in the pot on Wednesday and Gilbert was going to meet with the mayor of RS for some additional coin and had a couple of other philanthropists lined up do drop some Benny's!!! The purse could easily surpass that of a national! Shazaam!!!

BRUCE! Quitcherbitchin!!! Are you physically to ride a bike? Then saddle up and ride cowboy! No excuses! My back hurts, I am outta shape, I have got four-eyes, a hang nail, a broken shoe lace and diarrhea and I am going to make every effort to race, just nobody walk behind me... you know because of my broken shoe lace. I might trip and fall and get in your way :P

Ride or Go Hide

That reminds me of that great song from the movie Parenthood....

"When you're sliding into home and you're pants are full of foam, Diarrhea.."

So I guess the BMX version would be more like....

"When your snappin' out the gate, and your butt begins to quake, diarrhea..."

"RACE ON!" says the shepherd to the flock.

Hey b', all I have to say is one name and YOU WILL RACE.... Patrick Male. He is the definition of perseverence and over coming physical obstacles.

See you on the gate b'

I'm not bitchen, lower back pain sucks. Iv'e battled it since the late 80's & have several bouts of missing work & riding the couch. Dr. Tim fixed me in 2000 & Iv'e taken very good care of my LB since, but I'm at a loss of what how this latest came about. When I can't wear my toolbelt at work for a week & can't sleep through the night, there's a problem. I'll be there & I'll ride but I'm far from being how I was at the end of January. So quoting Nap Dynamite......"Just shut the frick UP, JEEZ!!!!!"

Jas'
The comp' will be of higher-caliber in RS :D

There are pro's and con's between both places. It would be fun to have you up at the Sweetwater Corral.

I just read on www.vintagebmx.com that the NBL national in Nellis is cancelled due to weather.

Guess that makes the choice of where to race a little easier! :)
