Last year the ABA (ahem, USA BMX) finalized the numbers about the mid-to-end of January. You'll run your current number until the points are announced as final.

They will make a note on this page here... most likely: http://www.ababmx.com/index.php?page=de ... e=district

I know there are a few of us who are still learning to manual. I put together this quick guide for those who are ready to start learning:

viewtopic.php?f=18&t=4893

I'm no expert, but I finally feel like I have manualing down. But I just barely learned, so I remember what it feels like to be a manual noob. Feel free to post up questions, or find me at the track if you'd like some live instruction. like I said, I don't think I'm the world's expert on manualing; i know I'm not. But I learned a few tips that really helped me and others I've taught. Hopefully some of these tips help you and your kids.

Read through it and let me know which parts are confusing. I'm sure there are a lot of spots I need to clarify. I just wanted to get it all written down before I forgot something.

I want to be able to do this so bad. I am going to try it off of a curb, that sounds like a good idea for us starters.

let us know how it goes. It's actually really easy to learn how to wheelie off a curb. I'll be you get it in 2 min or less. Now, backing it up and manualing a foot before the curb will take a week or two.

Also, learn how to loop out. Let us know how that goes too. Make sure you aren't in your clips when you try this.

oh you can. The result won't be pretty though.

Please don't try any of that in clips. Throw some platform pedals on your bike when you're learning to manual and loop out. Even on the track, you'll have a ton more confidence if you're on flats. Manuals CAN be learned with clips, but I think it's much safer, quicker, and easier to learn with flats.

I don't know all the 28-35 riders as well as I should. I was thinking of doing a little intro video where each rider could introduce themselves real quick, then we could get to know each other a bit better. Is there any interest in this? I recognize a lot of faces, but I can't remember everyone's name (or their screen name in real life). Anyway, if you guys are interested, you can either submit your video to me, or I can do a quick 20 second interview at the track this weekend.

On another topic, who's feeling like they're going to podium this weekend? I think I might take a 3rd on Saturday, unless all of you have been pumping iron over this holiday. However, I will be racing cruiser too, so I'll be DEAD tired by the time I get to the mains (assuming I even make the main).

What are your predictions for this weekend? I see Logan finishing on the podium. Reaperscurse is scaring me with his new parts and workout regime. And then there's Swanson. That guy can beat me on his BAD days. And then there's Dave, who barely started racing, yet he's killing it out there. I think he's made the main every race he's been in.

Help me ID everyone in these pics. I recognize most of them, but I don't know all their names.

Tough to do, everyone is hard to make out. If the images are from the 12/10 main, which it looks like they are, the riders that made the main were Brett P, Me, Jason H, Jason S, Jeremy K, Jake G, Dustin A, and Jared W. BJ B was racing with us that night but didn't make the main as he left after the first moto with an injury.

That is me "Brett" dead last at that main, what a bad race that was for me all the way around. Bad gate, got pinched out, and my shoulder was sore. lol I promise i am coming back strong. Maybe not this weekend, but i have a fire under my butt, and my eye on the podium.
