Too bad the cameraman got looking for sheep off in the country side when all of the action was repaying "Mr. One-Footer" in the last turn...

One of my favorite BMXers of all time, Pat Male.

Some of you old timers that raced in the 90's remember this kid as he was not hard to pick out in a moto, usually he was near the front. I had to race him a few times in the 17 & over mixed open & once he got going, he had mad skills. He almost won a national in his novice class once, losing out by a knobby. He disappeared from the BMX scene in the early 2000's & it's nice to see that he didn't give up riding a bike.

Here is some footage of him I took at the Reno national in 1999 when he rode for Herdas Hotshots.

I have had major issues trying to download the DP SCQ races. We might have it figured out by the weekend, sorry. It's great footage too.

This 1hr long Grands video has some very good footage of Julie Lindsey, Dave Beeson, David Wray & Joey May all racing their mains.

My parents backyard shares a fence with Julee's parents backyard, and Mike Poulson lived down the street with a mailbox post made out of a real schwinn sting frame. This was all before we moved to that neighborhood though, So I never lived on the same street as Mike Poulson  I went to highschool with Julee though. Go Lancers! lol

Dave Beeson and Joey May sound real familiar. Did they race up at thunderhill? Or were they twin peaks area?

Joey May is one of the most famous & successful racers ever to come out of Utah. If he came out of retirement he would probebly be in the 41 & over classes & nobody but T.P. would touch him after he got his skills back.
Beeson was part of the Ogden crew, won his Grands open class in the mid-80's & went on to become a pretty good Mt. biker. Spencer would know more about him.

Toby Henderson, the owner of Intense, Sinz, THE & other BMX companies leading the charge in a AA Pro main in 1984. These guys are really flying down the 1st straight. Take notice of the speed jumping at full sprint too.

Yesterday. Sept 15th was the 30th anny of this event that ended up almost killing this dude. I remember watching it on TV. Gary Wells was talking how he was going to jump the fountains at Ceasars when 10 years earlier Evel Knieval crashed & burned trying to be the first. This is one of those things you watched as a kid that you never forget.
