D.P. race #2. Relay race? Feedback wanted.
So I'm leaning towards having a relay race at the next Tooele race on the 22nd, bu tthe interest has to be there. We would run it after the races to get it organized. This is what Iv'e come up with so far.
- 4 - person teams.
- An armband like a hair scrunchy would be used. 1st rack would cross the finish line & ride or run up the starting hill, pass the arm band to the next in line & they would be off.
- Only 2 experts would be allowed to be on each team. I'm hoping this will even out the playing field & not allow teams to load up on 4 top experts, smoking the field from the get-go.
- The fastest rider in your group has to go last.
- This is open to anybody so a team can be made up of a mix of buddies, families or exsisting teams.
- RSVP your spot on the gate asap here or PM me & I'll update. 1st 8 teams to sign up are in. Utah BMX.com is in so that's one spot.
Since there is a total of 32 spots open (8 lanes x 4 riders) & if there is more riders wanting to participate, we could go to teams of 5 riders.
What do you think? I'd like to keep this as simple as possible.
b.
P.S.
I'll sweeten the deal with this, if we fil up the gate with all 8 spots, I'll kick down $25 bucks to the winning team.

Justin, not sure about that just for the fact that some teams could still stack themselves pretty good & where do I stop making exceptions? I would hope if, let's say the Pattersons (all 3 of them) enter, they would make a novice or a girl their 4th rider just to even things up. You could always enter another team OR from the looks of things we might go 5 riders deep.

5 riders it is.
2 experts per team.
We still have 2 more lanes to fill, spread the word!
BTW,
- I'll give out lane assignments at the track & post them on the moto board.
- Is everyone cool with running the race let's say 10-15 minutes after the main is ran?
- After the gate drops it's going to stay down, the first rider will cross the finish line & it will be their job to get the armband onto the next rider who will be waiting at the gate in their lane. So everybody will be riding their bikes up to the bottom of the starting hill, running up & making the transfer. Make sure your team is on the same page with their team mates. I would imagine people should move their bikes before the next group makes their way around because it could get pretty crowded after a few racks.

I think it would be cool for the kids to have a spot too. Like a mandatory 11 yr old or younger rider? Seeing as how the Alveys and Dilleys and I have 11 year olds.
