Submit / Critique Poll Ideas Here

Postby J Gallo » Thu Dec 02, 2004 3:53 pm

I'm creating a forum for poll ideas so I can keep track of all the subjects. I'll be adding my ideas here (so I don't forget them) so feel free to submit yours as well!

Also, if you see one you really like (or dislike), let me know and I'll bump it up (or bump it off) the list!

As always, thanks for your support!

I like the replys but wondered if polls could be set up so that each Ip address can only vote once. I think it ruins a poll if one party can vote over and over again.

Yes, it can be set up so each IP can only vote once. I didn't set it up like that on purpose for 2 reasons.

First, I figured most "honest" UtahBMX'ers would only vote once and regulation probably wouldn't be necessary.

Second, I know there are multiple BMX'ers in the same household that might vote differently. On this note, I could set it up so that each IP can vote X number of times, like 2 or 3, which would prevent the egregious multiple voting, and still allow each member of the family the opportunity to vote.

But in the end, it was just for fun, and I just didn't see an immediate need for such high security regulations :)

Now, if I ever do the "Which Vanilla Ice CD is your favorite?" poll that Greg mentioned in another thread, I might have to implement some serious security to prevent tampering :) LOL  :P

Seriously, I'll be more than happy to slap an IP check into the poll program, anything for the loyal UtahBMX.com viewers!!! I'm here to serve you in any way I can!! :D

That's to bad because I just love to sit here and vote over and over just so the stuff I like wins. :D

For larger races (say 40+ motos), would you rather have 2 or 3 moto transfer?

0 - 2 moto transfer
0 - 3 moto transfer

I want everyone to know that Greg does not cheat and vote more than once in the polls :!: I know this because as of right now he has 4 votes to be the first to jump the doubles and I have voted for him 3 times

Jason, I would never accuse you of wrong doing. The fact I was trying to let everyone out know about was that Greg (the berm buster no jumper) Prawitt, has not padded his vote in this poll, I did.
Anyone who would not vote for him, if only based on his picture, is insensitive to say the least.

GO GREG, JUMP HIGHER, AND FARTHER THAN YOU HAVE EVER JUMPED BEFORE :D (BY THE WAY BARRY BONDS HAS SOME CLEAR CREAM YOU CAN RUB ON BOTH YOU AND YOUR BIKE) :)

Well, this is quite funny. No, I did not pad my stats.

Given the way the poll was written however, I have to say that I won this about 25 years ago. :D Now, if it was meant to say who will jump a double 'again', that is another story.

I will not even dream of ever being able to jump "higher or farther" then I have ever done before. I was quite the crazy kid in my youth, and would jump about anything. My mind is still saying go ahead and jump it, but my body just says "H&LL NO".
