Ford Fusion Hybrid - Anyone?

Postby J Gallo » Fri Jan 22, 2010 12:32 pm

So I'm thinking of purchasing a 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid.

Anyone have any experience with this vehicle and want to offer any insight? All the reviews seem pretty positive, but looking for any "real world" issues.

I have a buddy that has had one for about a year and a half and loves it! He actually just traded his truck in to get another one for his wife. Hope that helps.....

I would recommend talking to Brandon Smith if he comes out this weekend. He is the Parts Manager for Henry Day Ford he would know if there are any common failures or issues. He may be able to work a good deal for you too.

Don't know if you if the price range is the same but the lexus hs250 hybrid would be better in terms of hybrid technology. Fords hybrid is toyota/lexus Gen1 hybrid system. So the ford system is basically old news in terms of hybrids, not to say it is not a great car. But the HS is very cool and of course the service is the best, as you have 2 fellow BMX'rs who work at that service dept. and could hook you up with someone in sales. PLUS I would get $100 for a bird dog  . Worth looking at for sure. We had one out at the track the last race of the year if you remember seeing it. You can talk to Jason Stiles or Adam Campbell at the track if you have any questions.

You going green on us Gallo??? I wonder how it will run over the 3 sisters with a load of bikes and kids. Seems like a lot of extra expense that will not pay for itself once it all gets sorted out. I don't know! To each his own.

Probably work out fine since you don't go racing anymore! :D

Waste of money imo Jason. For the price of what one of those cost you could get like, 30 of these. When one dies, leave it on the side of the road & fire up the next one! :P

A prime example of "paid for itself" for you to consider! "The Gray Ghost in the Night" will I'm afraid, be unceremoniously laid to rest this spring after 18 years of proud service :( A little over 360,000 and still no excessive oil consumption and pass emissions with flying colors. R12 AC still works great! Mobile 1 works! The rest of it is hammered! Can you say "Kidney Cars"

Paid 10K even for it in July 92 right after the war.

Unbelievable reliability! Compared to my Dad's minivan that cooked at 95,000.
