Ok, there were two new faces that aren't really "new" to racing that showed up tonight. There was some questions as to who they were, I'll tell you.
- Brian Wixom, 28+ inter.(42? yrs old). He was on the white Redline wearing red gear & a chest protector. Early-mid 80's absolutly one of the fastest dudes in the state. He turned Pro & did ok. He has a habit of not riding his bike for 2 years, pulling it out, filling up the tires, getting to the track late, no practice & racing cold turkey. Tonight was no exception. That 2nd moto had Roland going ape & the crowd going wow! when he jumped the dubs going into the last corner & low-highed the leaders.
- Glen Adams, 41-45 cruiser. (45 yrs old). He was racing onthe red Specialized cruiser. Long, long time old school Utah BMXer. Factory Mongoose in the early 80's & was very popular here & around the U.S.
He got into Mt. bike racing & won the (correct me if I'm wrong somebody) 90' downhill World Championships at Big Bear on one of the first full suspension mt. bikes. Has been a top mt. bike race forever. He came out & raced a season or two in 98-99' at Logan Indoors & disappeared from the sport until recently.
His biggest claim to fame though, at least to me is he was in the movie "Rad". He is actually on the top of the starting hill & is introduced with face time in that scene, pretty awesome! He races thoughtout & it was & is pretty cool that a Utard was in the greatest BMX movie of all time.
So there you have it sports fans.
