Utah BMX.com's "28+ No-Clips Open" thread.

Postby bnd » Sat Sep 12, 2009 6:48 pm

I passed out plenty of flyers at RC, Roland talked about it & Melton said he would spread the word. One week away & Iv'e got to tell you I'm excited. This race will really even out the playing field for the guys & gals who run flats vs. the ones that have lived on clips forever. One thing I'd like to point out though, if you sign up to race....race. Don't sign up just to try to score a easy prize, that's not cool. Also, I think we are running a 3-moto transfer night that night so your shot at glory is increased. :)
Any questions? Just ask.

Look what arrived at my doorstep today!

This will go into the prize pot, I would like to thank Ray Hudson from Fly Racing for helping me out.

A few things, the Open is this Saturday night out at Deseret Peak BMX. This is a special added race to the nights regular racing. (For some reason, some people just don't get it). $1.00 entry fee.
All entrants for the Open will be eligable for the prizes I have rounded up.
I'll have a sign up sheet at sign ups you have to write your name on then I'll take it from there, it's that simple!

Another little carrot to dangle in front of any of you who are on the fence about entering the No Clips race... GT Bicycles is kicking in a "team only issue" pit shirt for all entrants! The only people who have these shirts are GT Factory team members so you will be one of the privileged few to have this limited edition article of GT clothing.

I may spring out another prize or two if the participation for the race is good.

Polish up your DX's and lace up your Vans and work on your Ronnie Anderson leg-out turns!

Yo B....Liberty Racing will throw in a $25 Chili's gift card as a prize. That way some lucky guy or gal can take their significant other out to dinner after racing their little BMX bike. Shoot me your PayPal email address and I'll send it your way. Good luck to everybody! I wish I was there to join in.

Hey Bruce-

Can a person race this on a 20" if they only have a cruiser membership (or vice versa) ?

Dr. Alvey,
You can race ANYTHING, even a pit bike if you want. It also doesn't matter what membership you have, if you have one at all, if you get my drift.
I'll be racing my 24" even though I'm faster on my 20". I was just too scary last time out on the 20".

Lee, Thanks!
My PP addy is just my e-mail & I'll write up an "I.O.U." for that gift card or whatever you want.

I'll post up all the motos, the semis & the mains.
Main, Kris Park gets the inside holeshot with Spencer riding his hip going into the first turn, looked to be some good, tight action w/ Park losing his front end & taking a few others behind him with him. Spencer re-groups for the win with Halvey 2nd & Justin Alvey 3rd.
Pics & vid coming Sunday.

Matt Spencer won the $25 from Liberty Racing.

29 riders signed up!

The 28+ no clips was a whole lot of fun to be apart of ...Being right there operating the gate you got to hear the "Do you know how long its been since I ran flats?" an "I keep trying to pull my pedal up" It was a good time and some great racing.

That race was some serious FUN! I can't believe I made it to Semis.

Thanks Bruce for putting that together, to DP for letting Bruce put it together and to all of the folks who put in the prizes.

Wade Spratt, you weren't there for the raffle but you won the custom number plate from b2 BMX designs (aka me). I catch you at the track or you can message me via this website.

Thanks again everyone! What a good time. Next time I don't know if I'll sign up for class, cruiser and the open! Wow, my legs!
