Looks like it is coming together nicely. Nick Adams (GJ T.O.) called me when the rebuild was completed and said the new dirt he got was from the horse track which is some of the best dirt you can get. Perfect mixture of clay, sand and horsie by-products

and is rock free!
I have been to Grand Junction several times and the facility will work great for the national. They just need to add some extra seating and they will be set. For lodging I highly recommend the Hampton Inn downtown on Main Street. It is as close as any other hotel (about 5 to 10 mins) and has super comfy beds and a great breakfast. Since it is on Main Street you have access to several great eateries and shops. There is a grocery store very close to the track for all of your hydration and race fuel needs too. There is some awesome mountain biking surrounding the town too if you are looking for other cycling activities.
There are some other fun tracks within an hour drive of GJ in Olathe and Montrose. If you plan to check out the GJ track before the national be sure to try the other tracks out.
I hope to make this race, if my schedule permits, to support my good buddy Nick.
