Race at Ogden Raceway 13 Nov!!!

Postby Diesel » Fri Nov 05, 2004 12:02 am

Hello to All,

I've been trying to make a race happen at Ogden this weekend but the track is still to wet!

As I write this, there's a 2 inch pump out there removing approximately 800 to 1000 gallons of water from the first turn that collected from a broken water pipe and all the rain. We had hoped it would go away naturally but it ain't happenin! So I rented the pump. It's been running since about 1800 and not even a quarter of it was gone by 2045 at 100 gallons per hour!

Weather is supposed to be dry for the next 10+ days. Mike, Shane, and I will prep the track next week. Unless the bottom falls out, we are going to race on the 13th.

Hope you guys will come and warm up for the Rad Indoor! Please pass the word!!!

Single point ribbon race! Signup 1300 to 1400, race ASAP. Will post exact entry fee next week as soon as I figure out what it will take to break even. Hope to keep it at 6 bucks or less!!!

Thanks,
Dan Patterson

Dan,
I will be sure to spread the word and I will try to make it up also. Thank you for all your efforts in attempting to get the track ready.

For those of you getting ready for the Grands, this will be a great opportunity to get in some gates and ride. Take advantage of it!

Thanks Dan :D

I don't know why, but I'm suddenly reminded of a quote from the movie "Mr. Mom".

"So you gonna do it all 220?"

(pause)

"220, 221, whatever it takes"

I was thinking the same thing as I was looking at the weather forecast for this weekend.

Hopefully Dan can give us an update?

Ogden Race as of Thursday evening

Postby Diesel » Fri Nov 12, 2004 12:41 am

Don't give up the ship on the race at Ogden on Saturday. The track is preped and will only require touch up on Saturday morning. We worked pretty damn hard to get the first turn up to speed!

There has not been that much rain out there. The track surface stays firm when wet and is really quite tacky. Even though it is good and damp, it is not slick!!! All parties involved with the prep today agree the track will be raceable as long as it isn't raining Saturday within a few hours of race time! We are gonna ride the track tomorrow.

Even if it's raining where you're at, it might not be at the track. Latest weather report forecast is for light and sporadic showers up here in the Ogden area. Don't give up on it yet!!! Call me at 668-7932
