Would you come out and race at Ogden Raceway on Saturday afternoon during November and December when there's no other races going on in the area?

Ogden Raceway Revisited

I’m looking at the possibility of reopening Ogden BMX for Saturday afternoon racing during November! Of course, that would be weather permitting. Preliminary signup times would be say 1pm to 2pm starting on November 6th, the weekend after Del Mar! Also, it will be run with the normal ABA 2 moto transfer rules.

I will try to make a race happen every Saturday thru December 11th with the exception of the Rad Canyon and Rock Springs indoor weekends, whatever those exact dates may be, and no race on the Thanksgiving/Grands weekend.

This is my idea to help get a few more local races in before and after the Grands, and will be a “Grassroots” effort only! No way do I want to "step on anyone's toes"!

I’ve spoken with Mike Kelly and Guy Barrious’s Dad (It’s terrible that I can’t remember his first name) and they will help me run the track. I talked to Troy about it yesterday. He liked the idea, and will back us with the infrastructure and help clear it with the ABA.

To all you folks out there, please spread the word to everyone you know and give me some feedback on how much rider participation I might expect. If it looks like it will be worth it, I'll press on with the planning, come up with a firm schedule, and a weather criteria that will be OK with everyone!

I remember how Todd Peterson ran DP outdoor clear to December 15th the first year the Boys and I raced. I remember helping to sweep snow off the frozen track at one of those races. Matt Spencer was there that day as well! The point being that it really isn’t that bad to race in the cold! You just wear more clothing!!!

LMK what you think!!!

I would have voted, but there isn't a choice for

"Dan Patterson is NUTS, but I'd race anytime, anywhere"

Go for it Dan, me and Spencer will be at anything I can possibly get to. Work has been getting in my way ALLOT lately, but Saterday afternoon is ideal.

I would definitely be there! The only thing that might keep me away would be if I had to work on Saturday (usually only until 2pm, so I might still be able to make it). I always liked Ogden's track, but I just couldn't make it up to race on a weeknight. After getting off work and fighting traffic, I'd never make it in time. I always hoped they would race on either Saturday afternoon or Sunday morning, hopefully we'll get a chance if the weather clears up.

Keeping my fingers crossed!

My son Cooper and I would support this. We love the Ogden track. Cooper recently moved up to intermediate class on that track.

Colton, I'm sure there would be someone going who would take you with them.
