RSS Feed

Postby J Gallo » Mon Feb 25, 2008 5:07 pm

For those "geeks" out there, there is now an RSS feed for the UtahBMX.com forums.

You'll find this image for the link near the bottom of the home page, all forums, and all topics.

I don't use RSS all that much, so let me know how it works!

This is great, now I can just see if there are new posts to the forum right on my iGoogle home page!

I love learning new things :)

Didn't even think about the iGoogle page until you mentioned it below. That was really easy to add, and I can view it from the home page.

I just see 3 stories, do you know if there is a way to increase it to 5, or 10?

Jason,

On iGoogle, on the heading for each widget there is a little down arrow. Click on that and then select edit settings. From there you can change the number of posts to display.

DOH!

Thanks, I guess I need to spend more time on that page. I set it up awhile back, but really haven't messed with it. I'm sure there is all kinds of cool stuff I'm missing out on.

Too much to know.

Postby dantheriver » Mon Feb 25, 2008 6:05 pm

I'm on the computer all day every day and I'm still amazed at the stuff I don't know. The other night, I was surfing the web with my 5 year old daugher and she saw me using the down arrow to scroll down the page, she proceded to explain to me that it's faster to just use the space bar to scroll down on a web page! Amazing. Just a few more years and I'll be as obsolete as floppy disks.

if you're subscribing to the RSS feed, do you find that you don't come to the site as much? just read the post(s) from the RSS reader?

I may be a little different, but I still visit the site just as much. I've noticed that the RSS feed in iGoogle doesn't update immediately.

However, the RSS is sure nice to have. Not only on iGoogle, but also on my facebook page.

Including the RSS feed came about due to suggestions from a couple people, so THANK YOU!

Keep the suggestions coming!
