Ok, I just have to rant, and please feel free to chime in and let me know if it's just me or do I have a valid complaint.
Traffic Sucks.
I live in West Jordan, about a mile or so directly north of RAD to be exact. I currently work up near the airport. So my drive to work is fairly easy, just a straight shot up Bangerter Hwy. It's easy enough in the mornings @ 7am, it generally takes me about 20-25 mins depending on how many red lights I catch.
But the afternoon is another story. I usually drive home around 5pm, and the other day I had to go down Bangerter to get home and it took me 50 mins! 10 mins short of 1 hour! To go 11 miles! Now, normally I don't go that way home, for that specific reason. When it started taking me 35-40 mins, I started going out west on 2100 so to take U-111 home (8400 west, Bacchus Road, whatever you want to call it). It adds another 4 or 5 miles to my drive, but it's pretty consistent right at 30 mins every time.
And have you tried to drive by Wal-mart in Jordan Landing on a saturday afternoon? Sheesh!!
Is it just me or is the traffic situation on the west side getting out of hand? When it takes 3 cycles of the light to get through intersections at 4100 so, 4700 south, and 5400 south on Bangerter Hwy, it's getting pretty ridiculous.
But as a whole, we have it pretty easy here in Salt Lake. Check out this story about traffic in other area from CNN.com

Thanks for listening, I'll roll my window back up now
Can I rant for a minute?

I'm with Jason on this one .. Jason and I live and work very close together and I have had nothing but headaches with traffic.
The other morning I tried 6200 s eastbound at 6:30am and it took me close to 15 min to get from 2700 w onto redwood road. They had some kind of issue on both the east and west lanes of I-215 so the right 2 lanes were completely bottlenecked. That just caused further delays causing everyone to bypass the freeway and take redwood. A 15 to 20 min commute became 50 min. sick!!
As for homeward commutes, I'm fortunate to end my work day at 4pm. If I leave at 4pm then I can use 5600 w with little problem or delay. However, since 4pm is slim, anything past 4:10 is like Chicago traffic.
I'm at the point of parking a camper in the parking lot at work.
Jason, I'm with ya brother .. it sucks..

I use to travel to South Jordan everyday from Kaysville. I would leave an hour before I had to be to work. It gave me just enough time to drop Justin off at preschool and get to work. I moved to Midvale to save time. I live 3 miles from preschool and 6 miles from work. Living closer only saves me 30 minutes. It's crazy. I get off work at 5 and I'm lucky if I get home by 6 after picking up Justin. Traffic is the only thing I do not miss while I sit in this BORING apartment recovering.
