What does it cost to rent the facility? Build the track? Vend? Run the race?
How much does the ABA get paid per race? Trophies? etc...

How much dirt do we use?

What kind of mixture?

Why do we pay $75 to sell stuff there?

Who does what work to make the race happen?

JS,

I'll try and answer some of your questions because I am currently working the exact issue you ask about.

Facility Rental- $500 per day ($1,500 for a 3-day race....$375 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit required to reserve). I don't know if this is true for the Rad Indoor, just what I'm looking at. The $500 a day gets the facility, all utilities, concessions, janitors and PA system.

ABA fees- Single point race $20 sanction fee, Insurance $1 per rider ($30 minimum / $60 maximum)

Earned Double point $50 sanction fee, Insurance flat $60

SCR $0 sanction fee, $60 insurance, $1 per rider sanction fee surcharge

SCF $0, $60, $3 per rider sanction fee surcharge

RCQ $500 sanction fee, $60 Insurance, $3 per rider sanction fee surcharge

practice, clinics & birthdays $0, $20, $0

These figures are right from the new track guide from ABA

As you can see...IT IS NOT CHEAP by no means!!!

VOLUNTEERS are the backbone and lifesaver of ANY track!

I hope I answered some of your questions. More to come in the near future for future Utah Indoor BMX!!!

p.s.- Did you get my reply about your cruiser? I'll use it Saturday night if it's stil available.

Geddo-

Plan on using the bike. Are you going to need it before Saturday? Contact me if you need it.

Also, what's this about you getting a place to ride! That's fantastic news!

Keep us updated.

Wow, I didn't no BMX was so expensive. Well, parts for my bike and all that is, but my dad must be right, Bmx is one of the most expensive sports besides like MX and stuff like that.
