1st Night of the SL County Fair, Highs and Lows

Well, the first night of the county fair started off great! I had entered 3 pictures into the fair, and both my kids had each entered a pic of their own, so we were really excited to get in and see how they did. We went to the Junior Amateur section first, and found my oldest daughters' pic (of a sunset) first, along with a THIRD PLACE RIBBON!!
Then we went to find my youngest daughter's pic (of our dog). It took a minute, but we finally found it up on top. Not only did it have a FIRST PLACE RIBBON, but she also won BEST OF SHOW in the junior amatuer, so along with a couple more ribbons, she also gets a PLAQUE!!
So now my kids are really jazzed, and I'm happy for them, but I want to see MINE!! We wander over to the Amateur section, and hunt down both my pics. We first find the picture of Robby Patterson and Cody Kelley, and right next to it was an awesome 2nd Place Ribbon!
Then we go around the other side of the wall, and find my picture of Jason Stout at sunset jumping out at Deseret Peak, and lo and behold, right next to it is a 1st PLACE RIBBON!!
Unfortunately, the picture of my 2 daughters throwing leaves in the front yard only got me a 4th place, but overall it was a tremendous success!!
Now for the low..... After walking around the rest of the fair for awhile, my youngest and I finally make our way over to the track for some practice. We were sitting with Bruce in his car and we see a few people running out onto the track and gathering in the rhythm section. I couldn't see who crashed, but when they didn't get up right away, it wasn't a good feeling. So I got out to see who it was, and it turned out to be Jeremiah Fazzio. My heart sank. He had put alot of time out there helping to get the track built and ready for everyone, it was difficult to see him sitting there in pain. It looked like a dislocated left shoulder
I truly hope for a speedy recovery Jeremiah!! He's really one of the great kids of Utah BMX, and I hate to see him injured!
Anyway, onto another topic. For the time and resources the guys had to build this track, they did a FANTASTIC job!! Alot of people spent a ton of time getting this event put together. From the track, to the gate, to everything else, RAD Canyon has some pretty AWESOME volunteers! THANK YOU ALL!!!
I also took a few pictures of practice, you can check them out by Clicking Here!
See you at the track Friday and Saturday!!
