Hello,

On behalf of Troy Tippets and the rest of us up here, I must unfortunately announce the demise of Ogden Raceway.

All the ongoing efforts to buy and/or lease the property again have completely fallen through, so we are all SOL up here in the Ogden area once again.

We were all set to build a completely new conventional track (no more downhill start straight) that I'm sure everyone in the state would have loved to come ride on. What a complete drag!!! There's some serious disappointment happening here as I write this. This is pretty much devestating news for the boys and me!

Time to start looking for new land. We are fully open for suggestions!

Thanks to all who came out and supported Ogden Raceway!!!

wow, that's too bad. I know I didn't make it out too much last year, but i was looking forward to it this summer. Spencer had a blast racing it, and talks about it all the time. He'll be bumbed for sure.

Hopefully a new place can be found soon, and all of those local kids don't have to go too long without a track.

that's too bad! :(

I drove by the track on the way back to school and noticed the for sale signs.

It was fun while it lasted. We are all gonna have to drive a ways to race this year. Best of luck finding new land to build on.

That bites. I was so excited to race there this year with both feet working properly. My son and I loved that track. Thanks for your work to make it possible as long as it was.

Sorry to hear that Dan. Bennett will be bummed as well. He only raced the State Qualifier there last year. Still, he was just saying to me yesterday evening how much he liked the track and couldn't wait to get back up there this year.

It MORE than bites.....anytime a local track shuts down that was halfway successful is a shame. I was glad I was able to ride it when it was the full-on downhill straight.

What about the old Thunderhill track? I heard it was still there? (4th street?).

I sure hope Lindon can get their act together this year & do something with the track. It's been a disaster for 3 years now after being a fun place to race on Saturday mornings when they first went ABA. If the track goes unchanged then it's time for a new track in Utah County, bottom line. The Orem/Provo BMX scene has always been strong over the years when they have a good program down there. Honestly I'm not holding my breath as RC & DP are set to go & not a peep has come from Lindon.

thats really is a bad thing. troy, dan, kerry and the reast of the guys up in ogden put aolt of effort into that program. it's really sucks that things didn't work out . I know I was talking to dan about getting there race together a couple of month ago but then all this. we really need to keep lindon going if anyone knows anything about it lets work together to keep it going. I know that mark just got a big grant to put some new showers and rest rooms in lindon bay, which is a good start to get people down there.

Showers & restrooms? How about a total track rebuild first? I don't mean to be negative but that track needs a TOTAL FACELIFT! New dirt all the way around & a professional from the ABA to do it. The track not only is aweful its dangerous to ride on & that's the reason I won't go down there. Grabbing a rake or shovel is not going to do a bit of good. As soon as I see some real effort from the TO's or whoever to make drastic changes, I'm not going to risk breaking my neck down the first straight or any of those other whoopty jumps that litters the rest of the track.

Sorry if you don't like my opinion but its the truth, that's why they pull a fraction of the moto's they did 3-4 years ago.
