MYSELF, MERVIN, "AIR" JORDON WILSON, JAMES "DEAN" KIRKLOW, ELIOT "PAPA-SMURF" DOPELT, AND THE ONE AND ONLY JASON "THE ARTEEST" MCCAULEY TOOK A ROAD TRIP FROM SALT LAKE TO REDHILLS BMX IN THE MORNING (SINGLE POINT) THEN HEADED DOWN TO ZION BMX IN "HERR-KIN" UTAH. THE REDHILLS TRACK WAS FUN (AS ALWAYS) MOSTLY BECAUSE OF THE HOSPITALITY FROM ROGER AND MICHELLE AND A GREAT TRACK/ VIBE. THEN OFF TO CEDAR CITY FOR A PIT-STOP AT CAFE-RIO (AND A TOUR OF WALLY-WORLD) BEFORE LANDING IN ZION, UTAH. (I'D LIKE TO THANK THE LITTLE DUDE WHO OPENED THE GATE TO THE SWIMMING POOL AT ONE OF THE LOCAL MOTELS IN ZION SO I COULD RINSE OFF AND TAKE A SWIM) WHEN WE ARRIVED AT THE INCREDIBLY SCENIC BMX TRACK IN VIRGIN, WE WERE VERY IMPRESSED WITH THE TRACKS LAYOUT AND SMOOTHNESS. RACES WENT OFF WITHOUT ANY GLITCHES AND WE ALL TOOK HOME SOME HARDWARE (BIG-MAC WITH THE MOST) (EXCEPT I WON THE FIDDY-FIDDY/ $143) WILD BILL DONATED A TON OF STUFF FOR THE RAFFLE AND TOSSED PLENTY OF GOODIES OUT INTO THE BIG CROWD! THE TROPHYS WERE MINT AND THE TRACK WAS FAST AND RAD (80'S TERMS). HATS OFF TO WAYNE (WHO IS THE TRACK DIRECTOR AND FAST/ SMOOTH AS HECK) I HAD TO GIVE IT ALL I HAD LEFT IN THE TANK TO GET THE WIN IN CLASS. OVERALL AN A+ DAY WITH 6 MEN AND 7 BIKES LOADED INTO/ONTO THE 'BURBON FOR A NEARLY 700 MILE ROADTRIP IN JUST UNDER 22 HOURS. WE HAD SOME GOOD LAUGHS (AS USUAL WITH TEAM 801) AND WE ALL CAME HOME IN ONE PIECE. IT WAS WELL WORTH THE TRIP, THAT ZION BMX TRACK IN VIRGIN IS MAYBE THE BEST TRACK IN UTAH??? PLUS THEY RACE ALL YEAR ROUND AND PLAN ON MAKING THE TRACK BETTER THAN IT ALREADY IS! I CAN'T WAIT TO GET BACK DOWN THERE AGAIN AND HIKE ZION AND RACE THE TRACK. PEACE OUT ALL, KISS
