Need input on Virgin BMX...

Postby ironmtnbmx » Tue Jul 17, 2012 9:19 am

Hey everyone.

We were looking to start a track in Cedar City, but we just were not getting the support from the city that we had hoped. An opportunity came about for us to possibly take over out at Virgin BMX out in Virgin, Utah and we are looking for feedback from anyone that has been out there. What would you like to see out there? What did you not like? What did you like? We know that its a drive out there, but I know that if a track is worth riding then we will get people out there. This is in the very early stages of transition, but I would appreciate ANY feedback whether it be positive or negative so that we can create a place that all riders want to come!!

I have ridden the Virgin track many a time over the years. It's awesome & a diamond in the rough. With that being said, I wouldn't take it over if it was me. It's too far off the beaten path. There was thoughts that Vegas would support it but now that they have 3 tracks people won't travel on a weekly basis.
Your best bet would to try to get a track going in Cedar. They used to have a track in the 80's & actually had a track built for the summer games in the late 90's. The town is big enough to get a decent rider base going & is close enough for travellers to make it there & back in 1 day for bigger events.

My 2 cents.
