Bike Donation

Postby dilleyboys » Wed Feb 01, 2012 1:24 pm

Hello, I would like to start a bike/parts donation. I am a member of the Ogden Bike Collective, we have a shop on 24th and wall. What we do is take donated bikes and either use them for parts rebuild them or strip them down and recycle them. Crazy I know, but for most of the clients we build bikes for well lets just say they are not shopping for bikes, they take what they can get! We have a earn a bike program that if they donate 15 hours they can pick the bike they want to fix up for them selfs. its a great program. The kids get to learn how to work and at the same time learn the skills it takes to maintain a bike. If any of you have any parts/bikes laying around we sure could put them to use. We take everything from walmart mt bikes YUCK! road bikes from any decade LOL, BMX style bikes. Anything will help, please post up and if we get a good response i will pick up at the track on sunday.

Thanks Kevin Dilley

P.S. If any of you would like to make a kid smile show up one night donate a few hours of time and have a blast building someone the freedom of a bike.

Hey fellas nice work.. I have worked a lot with Jonathan at the salt lake collective. I have a couple bikes at the shop you can have. I will also see what else I can scrounge up for you. Talk to me at the track and we will figure out how you can get them from me. We can go pick them up after races if you want, I'm pretty close to the track.
