New to BMX, where to practice?

My son and I are new to BMX and were wondering a few things. Where can we practice during the winter? Is the only place the South Jordan indoor every other weekend? Heard about Rock Springs, but is there any place closer to S.L. than that? Also heard Toole was open as long as there wasn’t snow, but then read on here that it’s closed, so not sure about that one. We’re pretty hooked, and every other weekend isn’t nearly enough for us. Just a place to practice evenings or weekends would be great.

Other than the indoor races, it's pretty tough to find a riding area but the skateparks are a great training ground when there is no dirt to be had. Cottonwood Heights (Brighton) has a BMX only Sunday mornings from 7-11am. As long as there is no snow on the ground its open. Iv'e ridden there when it was 23*'s outside & had the whole place to myself.
Welcome to the site.

Tooele is open to the public, provided there is no snow on the ground. $2 per rider and sign the waiver at the main gate for all the cold weather mud ridin you can handle.

We'll check out both places. Thanks very much!
