FAMILY is everything!

I am so excited because I just got the word that two of my four brothers just received jobs at Kennecott Mining. They start 24 Jan. The reason I'm excited about this is because we come from Cali and I joined the Air Force a little over 10 years ago. My brothers and I are very close and it almost killed me to be away from them over the years. I've tried everything I could to get back home but still have the AF as my bread and butter. I actually volunteered for my Korea assignment in hopes of getting Edwards AFB (Cali), Luke AFB (Phoenix) or Davis-Montham (Tusan) as my next assignment. Well, that all kinda backfired and the AF denied all 3 due to manning and offered me Dyess (TX), Barksdale (LA) or Hill. I opted for Hill because it was still close to Cali and I had already spent 5 years there.

So after I moved my family to Hill in August one of my brothers came up to visit and noticed an add for Kennecott. He went and applied and then passed the info on to my other bro. He filled out an app and faxed it to the company. That was that.

About 3 months passed and no word from Utah and both of them figured they had already done the hiring when right before Christmas they both got called for interviews. Everything must have went very well because they both received job offers and start on the 24th. I just had to share this with you guys. I am soooooo excited to get back home and finally be with most of my family again.

There is some BMX news in all of this. Both of them are also ex 80's BMXers and already have shown interest in returning to the sport now that a track is not 3 hours away. I'll do everything I can to add two more riders to the 28 over class.
