Personal *Super Secret* Trails-Training Grounds

Postby FLYNHIGH » Tue Dec 28, 2004 4:54 pm

My brother Taylor and I decided, since it's such a nice day, to go out and ride at my Personal *Super Secret* Trails-Training Grounds. We took my camera and Taylor got some video and pictures of me.

I have just barely finished the first jump, 16 feet long with a steep backside. Prior to my first atempt, I decided to round the landing off a little after seeing how flat the lip is. This jump, as well as the runway leading up to it, has taken me about a week of hard labor to build (besides all of the cuts from moving the tumble weeds... OUCH, I just pulled out another thorn).

Check these out...
============

- 1st Attempt
360kb (video)

- 2nd Attempt
141kb (pic)

- 3rd Attempt
131kb (pic)

- 4th Attempt
183kb (pic)

- 4th Wreck
352kb (pic)
*This is a picture after I jumped on my 4th Attempt - According to my brother "I hit the soft pile of dirt, my bike sunk in, and I went completely upside-down hanging onto my handlebars. Then I tipped over" - it felt way cool!

- 5th Attempt
157kb (pic)

- 6th Attempt
196kb (pic)

- 7th Attempt
176kb (pic)

- 8th Attempt
945kb (video)

*Note: you must have Flash Player to be able to view the videos, if you don't have it, go to www.macromedia.com to download it.
=======

Notice the progression in my body/bike positioning as my attempts progress. They go from straight up and down to horizontal in the air... interesting...

I am hoping the weather will hold out for a little longer so I can build the second one!

I hope these pics make everyone really itch to ride this weekend!!!

Jason, maybe I could build a double for you to jump? There's plenty of dirt around to build it!!!

Dani, it was Taylor. I was quite surprised how well he did. It took me a few trys to even get a rider in the frame the first time I took pictures. I guess we'll have to start calling him the "ShutterBug"...

I think I've got a good blue print for a double for me....

Here's your double:

Code: Select all

        __                                     __
      /    \                                /     \
    /        \                            /         \
__/            \________________________/             \___

and here's mine :)

I think Steve's son Carson has a sand box shovel you can borrow :) LOL
