So there's been alot of chatter about the layout of the indoor tracks. I knew I had footage of a diffrent layout from Rock Springs, I just had to find it.

Here's another layout I drew up in about 5 minutes & dedicated it to Dallas Edwards. I call it my "Dallas" track. 8)

Now Bruce, you cant just throw a piece of meat to a hungry pack of wolves with me in middle and just run off :P

On the RS track notice how there were pile ups or the race would stall then single file out of the first turn then there was no passing due to the short 2nd straight set up. The berm is too tight (small diameter) for a first turn. Takes away from the flow and race-ability of the track.

I remember that Dallas track. It was where they had the 1986 USBA Grand Nationals. The first turn and second turn 90's were about 100+ apart so the drawing is deceiving. The "Widow Maker" jump was the highlight of the track. Todd Slavik pedal manualled the whole thing! Nobody ran clips at that race so there was a whole different flow to that track compared to todays tracks.

Bruce! That layout at Rock Springs kinda sucked. It took awhile for them to realize that and go back to the older track layout. Lets not go there again please! PLEASE!!!

That track in rock springs in '07 was way fun! it was a challenge though!
I agree with the really small first turn though, it kind of takes away the fair-advantage of the race cause there was always tons of pile ups from all that speed. But hey, its always great to try different things!
