Is this saying that the State Championship is going to be on Saturday this year?

If so, this is disappointing because it will conflict with little league football that is always Saturday mornings. It worked so nice in the past when the State Final race was on Sunday. Any possibility of reconsidering this date or moving the time of the race to the afternoon so that these boys don't miss their opportunity to race the State Finals?

I also would like to request that the State Championship race on Saturday be moved to the evening since my son (there is probably more kids) that have Ute Conference Football game during the day.

Please...He's been 1st or 2nd on all the other qualifiers. I'd hate for him to miss his chance.
I know you're probably ready to say (pick the one that's important), but both are important to him.
I need more cowbell...

We wish we could accomodate everyone and their schedules, however once the schedule is approved it is published on the ABA's website and in the magazines. Once that happens it cannot be changed or moved unless there is a weather issue that delays or cancels the race.
FYI for every person who wants it moved from Sat there are 2 people who dont want us racing it on Sun. Oh how nice it would be to find the perfect date but there isnt one.
See ya at the races

My son decided he wanted to go for a state championship, so he dropped football so that he can race that weekend (and the weekend before in Reno). In a busy world, sometimes you have to decide where your priorities are.

In the past, with the race on Sunday, some people complained that they would have to miss church/not follow their beleifs to go to the race, so like Jason said, you'll never make everyone happy.

I spoke with Ron today and he informed me that he couldn't change the time. However, I was so impressed with his understanding and sensitivity for the boys that love both sports. Ron told me too that if he hadn't already confirmed with the ABA that he may have been able to consider pushing the times back a bit but for this year he can't. I respect the challenge he has with scheduling bigt races with everyone's times - especially Sunday races (I too didn't want to race on Sunday and was glad about this just a little surprised).

What I also appreciated was that he told me when the football schedule came out and if it looked like we would be able to make it we could call him up to Saturday at before 10:45 to 11:00 to let him know if we were going to be able to make it to the race or not. Talk about trying to be accomodating. :D Would we be luck enough to play against Cyprus or West Jordan that Saturday? We'll see when our team's schedule comes out.

Ron, I also appreciate your concern with racing too late because Deseret Peak's schedule shows they are racing in the evening. It's nice to have the tracks working to support each others programs so that even the small program is sucessful.

Thanks again for your consideration.
