I have no idea where my card is. I've never used one in my last 6 seasons of racing...

...What do I do...?

Why the emphasis on the cards? I found his Cruiser card. Will that be good enough?

Ok guys, time to bust your chops on the ABA membership card rules and reasons :P

"
Why the emphasis on the cards?

Dan, we expect a lot of out of towners/new riders this weekend. The registration computers only carry the list of exisiting riders in the district or the ones who have raced at Rad Canyon Indoor this season. We will need proof of current ABA membership to allow these riders that are new to our system to compete let alone ride on the track.

The ABA has never required a card- what gives?

Mr. Stout, I beg to differ with you on your statement with just a few examples:
1. Why does the ABA even supply a card if they never require it?
2. If you will notice inside every BMXer magazine on about the sixth page you will see a listing for national practice times, registration fees, etc and in bold black letters on the bottom right "NO RACING WITHOUT YOUR ABA CARD!"
3. And if that isnt enough info, refer to the Bible i.e. the "ABA Rulebook" Section II - Membership
"Important: Every rider MUST show proof of membership each and every
time they sign up to race."

It is good to always have your card with you no matter what track you are at in case they are strict and adhere to the ABA rules.

Just having a little fun with you boys today. You can blame my wife for setting me off to prove somebody wrong today :P

Don't hate the playa, hate the game.
I'll have to dig deep for my card. Rules are rules though.

Lost domestic disagreement: Sydney: 1; Steve: 0

Won online battle on UtahBMX: Sydney: 1; Steve: 0

Total Score: Sydney: 2; Steve: 0

Steve winning the online battle actually scores Syd a point. It is the equivalent of a safety in the NFL

The underlying principle here is that there is not an online dispute or domestic battle worth winning :P

OK guys, time for some clarification. Steve did not make up these rules (I did), but he was kind enough to post them & explain the rules. Thanks Steve.
This Sundays Pro Am, with the ever growing purse, is going to be a big deal! We could have several out-of-staters & as Steve stated, these new people wiil not be in our computers. So......, they need to bring their ABA cards (to reduce issues at registration). And since we don't want to be accused of discriminating...... If you are entering this race - bring your ABA card!!! You will be ask to show it.

Thanks

Hey Curtis,

You got the same marital strategy book I have "Winning The Losing Battle"

Chapter 4 - How to Argue... or When to Put Your Tail Between Your Legs and Run
Paragraph 5 - "If the disagreement escalates and changes the tone in your spouses voice, immediately retreat and admit you are wrong and she is right (even if you know she is wrong). Knowing your place in the hierarchy of the nuclear family structure is critical to the longevity of the relationship and overall happiness. Side effects of anger and resentment are best treated with a dose of Sportscenter, hard liquor and/or prescription pain relievers."

Great book! Read it, learn it, live it.

Oh yeah.... AND ALWAYS CARRY YOUR ABA CARDS!
Steve :P :D :P :D

And for all those concerned about having your cards........ know this, as the TO's kid I will be asked for my ABA cards, 2 forms of ID and proof of citizenship! So be happy they only want your ABA card!!!!

Also from experience, make sure the number on your bike is the same as what is on the moto sheet....... I still hear that tongue lashing in my sleep

Steve - Yessir! That's the same book I read!

You forgot to include the first three chapters though:

(1) She is Right and You are Wrong - Always

(2) Romance: How to win an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor - subtitled: fake it til you make it (no dirty minds here - this one is clean)

(3) Accepting your place in the marriage in a subordinate role

As well as chapter 6:

(6) When in doubt, refer to chapter 1

I read this daily!

Nice one Bruce :D

This weekend is sure to be one for the books. All of Utah's fastest racers along with some out-of-towners will be gunnin' for the BIG BUCKS in the Pro-Am.

TP (a.k.a. 40-on-a-20) is ready to take on the young guns. Heck, he is so excited he is the already the first one in line at registration! Stout, TP said he wanted to help remind you what a membership card looks like

See everyone at the track tomorrow bright and early to build the track :P

For those following this thread, videos of the pro-am motos, quarters, semi's and mains have been uploaded and links posted. You can check them out here:

http://www.utahbmx.com/videos/index.php

Also, when I get time, I'm going to try and pull all the pro-am footage together and create one video. :)
