Scott Browns little girl is going to start racing next month. We are debating on whether or not to start her in the novice class instead of the girls class.
What should he do as I am really not familier with the younger classes.
Thanks,
b.

Definitely in the 10N class. The girls classes are a lot harder in each age group. Also, there are often no girls between 9 and 12, so she'd be racing 12G with Oblad and Edwards.

Novice- it will be more fun for her. She will learn faster and like Alvey said there are not many girls that age.
Cassidy started at 11 and got all 8 wins at twelve. Now she races 12-18 year olds and sometimes 13Inter boys. Glad to see more girls getting interested.
Plus it is fun for them to beat the boys.

When I first started, I started out in the girls class and I was racing some of the fastest girls out there. they were always beating me by almost a straight. so we transfered over to the boys novice and it was alot easier to work my way up to the girls and get faster. so if that tells you anything, I would start out in the 10 novice class ha.

definately the novice class, the younger girls are beating most the intermediate boys in the mixed open classes, why would you throw a newb in to that? Stick her in the 10 yr old Nervous class and let her cut her teeth vs the other suirrely starters, at least until she can balance in the gate, here it seems the only girls racing have Gray plates
