Last night was no exception. I'm not sure if it's not having the pressure of racing, or maybe it's not having to run around getting practice laps in and then taking pictures, but I'm so much more relaxed and I feel SOOO much faster during monday practices.
I started off with some warmup laps, then started practicing my gates. After a few of those, Heather Allred mentioned that she was going to get some pump practice in. Well, that sounded good to me, so I decided to pump the track with her. If you thing it's hard pedaling around the track, you should try NOT pedaling AT ALL around the track. OOOOO, feel the burn! After the 1st lap, a couple other people caught on, so I took another lap. Then all of a sudden we had a full gate of "pump racers". Ian Elliot, Joe Winebrenner, Jason Melton, Tony Anderson, Heather Allred, Nick Donner, about-to-be-crowned 36-40 Cruiser State Champ Greg Prawitt, myself, and a couple others I can't remember off the top of my head. We had a great time! I think I ended up putting in like 7 pump laps, and when I went back to the car for water, I could barely stand up, my legs were jello

I do have to give props to Mr. Winebrenner, that dude can pump! I think he won every lap. Though it might have been the "tony anderson snap" at the gate!

So if you ever find yourself bored on monday, head on over to RAD and get your pump on! Hope to see ya there!
