What does it mean when something is specified as an "earned" double, and what do you have to do to get those points?

Earned double means the track ran enough races in the season to get a extra double point. Has nothing to do with the rider

ABA sanctioned tracks run two types of races (regular single point races or multi-point races). All ABA tracks are guaranteed only one multi-point race per year, the State Champ. Qualifier race. All other multi-point races "must be earned" by the track. Most mult-point races are tied to specific events ( Race For Life, State Champship Qualifier or Finals, & Redline Cup Qualifier), but another mulit-point race can be earned by meeting certain criteria and is simply called an "EARNED DOUBLE"! Rad Canyon usually tries to group its multi-point races to a weekend or couple weekends to generate excitment for these special events.
