Annas broken wing

Postby Curtis Newkirk » Thu Jul 20, 2006 11:58 am

Well, we feared injury this year and it finally happened. Not to Bennett, but to Anna, and no, not on the BMX track, but at home. Argh. Anna was playing on her bed Tuesday and slipped off falling on her shoulder. She snapped her clavicle (collarbone) right in the middle. Please send your prayers and healing wishes her way.

Besides being hurt, one real downside is that she was going to be chasing a state plate this year. I think she will be okay though. She will get in the gate at Tooele, I will then help her down the hill, and she will then cut the track and cross the finish line. Of course, she will get dead last, but I think that will be enough points since she is the only 5 & Under girl.

Sorry to hear about that. I hope she heals quickly, I'm sure she will she seems to have the same tenacity as her older brother, and man that kids got tons.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

To the coolest girl on the BMX track. I hope you get to feeling better and heal up quickly. The boys will be waiting for you to beat them on the track. Keep that pretty smile on your face!

Thanks Jenni & Adam. I will make sure to pass along your messages to her and I am sure it will help cheer her up. She is pretty bummed, but she is also being a real trooper.

One other thing: Anna might be a contender for a 5 & Under Girl NAG plate. To help facilitate this we were going to go ahead and move her to Girl class this week. Jaycee Barnett and Heaven Menlove would help to form the local class. This was all Annas decision and she is really bummed that this might throw a wrinkle in her plans. She still might be a NAG contender, but healing is going to have to come first. Fortunately, I hear collarbones heal quickly.

Princess Anna can still sing. She's the best National Anthem Singer in the world. I hope she's still willing to volunteer to sing for us.

Speaking of her singing the national anthem, I think she is the youngest kid I've heard sing it! She even did it better than older kids! It sucks when you can't race due to an injury outside of BMX... I think I would rather go down on a track, LOL!

Heal up!
