Well lets see them Trav!

This pic is from early 98' in Longmont, Colorado at our first nbl race. It was indoors & it was alot of fun but was the most unorganized BMX event Iv'e ever seen. They had kids announcing who didn't know how to, they wouldn't call the motos & after I won all 3 of my motos, I damn near missed my main because they ran the mains backwards & didn't say anything about it. I RAN to the gate when my moto was already loaded, got in & was soo flustered that I went into the first turn 3-4th & then crashed shortly after. with another 5 guys using me as a speed bump.
This is about the time Danita started riding really well & finishing high at nationals.

Eric's nephew.... either Jimmy or Jeremey, can't remember. I'll ask my dad. He's married now! Wow, time flies!

b,

Thanks for the press! That was a fantastic weekend for racing. It was over 100 degrees- hot, hot, hot! The buffet was good, and I think I even won $20 on the penny slots!

If you look closely Bruce- you'll see your yess fork, PL handlebars, tires, and all that other stuff you sold to me when I first put that 20 in. bike together!- That bike was featured the last 2 weekends at the indoor races. There are some great shots of the bike tackling some new riders that Dave Williams brought!

Thanks again for being there to share the victory! You were so encouraging after that race. I remember you said, "You ride like an expert! Jumping everything out there!" I had just won my first Intermediate national type race. :) I wrecked in cruiser on the last cement corner. I still have the scar!

Thanks again for the pics and the memory!

Riverview BMX aka-Twin Peaks, 1983. That's me in the middle. Off to the right is Roland in the yellow & blk helmet, TP might be in the blue/white jersey but that could also be Griffin Law.

Great Salt Lake Nat's 1985. I'm in 2nd giving Taul the business as I passed him in this turn. I ended up not making my main here but this weekend was one of my most memorable. The day before in the pre-race I made the main w/ a full gate. I blew my gate & was dead last. I don't know what came over me but I got into the "zone" & started passing people left & right. I ended up putting a factory rider over this very berm in front of my sponsor & my family & lost out on 1st place by about a bike length. My Mom still remembers this race as my best to this day.

Thanks for the memories b'! It is cool to see all the old pic's. I wish I would have kept better records of my BMX career. You are a TRUE BMX HISTORIAN!

Oh... and the next time people start complaining about "todays" tracks, you need to break out an OS photo of how things use to be. Hopefully they will appreciate what they have access to.

Brent Patterson, ABA's #1 Pro in 1980. This guy was dominant in his time period as was his lil' brother Brian, who also won the ABA #1 plate in 83' & 84'. I rode a Patterson because the bikes were ahead of their time & the Pattersons, including Ritchie Anderson kicked butt!

Check out this bunnyhop!

Since my scanner only works when it wants to, I'm short on alot of my OS pic's so newer school is going to have to do for now.

This was from last years (04') Salt Lake national. 36+ expert . L-R is Me, Armstrong, Nick Brown, Steve, Wayne McCabe, Rich Hardy, Mike Weaver & Mark Miller. Boy, there sure are some squids in there!
