Re: Utah BMX.com's "28+ No-Clips Open" thread.
I'd like to thank some people who made life alittle easier for me last night.
Isiah from DP, Wayne Brown, Mark, who I hijacked off the fence line to help out in staging, Steve Spencer & probebly the biggest help of all, Roland. When I started gripping alittle because of all the things I had to get done with the moto sheets, he really helped me out.
When I do this again I'm definatly going to need a fulltime helper that isn't racing!
Oh yeah, I was sitting in the trophy shack filling out everybodys name for the drawing when Steve rode by, I yelled at him to let the starter know I was going to miss my cruiser main, he stated that they just ran it!

Another great night @ DP!!
The "No Clips" race showed that our "old guys" still have their "old skills"! They all rode so well that I would have assumed they were all clipped in. It was an honor to make it to the semi's and the main was a collection of our best riders and a blast to watch. The prize money and give-aways made it a night to remember.
Thanks Bruce for getting it all going!
Thanks Steve Spencer for the cool shirts and additional prizes!
Thanks to all who donated and participated!!!
This could (should) be an annual event... The DP Speed Flats

Ton's of fun even though I couldn't keep my feet on the pedals over a single jump. Thanks for all the effort to put things together Bruce. Thanks also to Steve "Bowling Ball" Spencer for punting Park's bike about 15 feet out of the way. I agree wtih Cote, it should be an annual thing - maybe the "Salt Flats Open"

If the new T.O. for Deseret Peak is down with it next year, sure no problem & I like the title Justin, it fits. I'll probebly put one together for the indoors, I'm thinking "non" BMX prizes too this time around.
There is one big special race already in the works for indoors & hopefully Melton will allow us to run a Cruiser Open once or twice too.
What would you guys think about a multi-lap race? or a 2-3 man relay race? I went to a race in the mid-90s in Colorado, it was a mt. bike class & they did 4 laps around the track for the main. 2 lap motos.

I have a hard enough time with one lap, but a relay race would be really fun. Maybe organize teams by shop teams or by family (Edwards/Tauls vs Alveys vs Park/Hammonds vs Oblads etc?). Anything to throw a twist into things usually ends up being pretty fun.
