How are the injured riders??
A few riders were injured on Saturday, July 21st at Rad Canyon and Deseret Peak. Does anyone know how they are doing?
Wayne Brown seperated his shoulder and should heal up nicely - no break fortunately, or not so fortunate depending on who you ask. lol.
Braxton Fordham tore his liver and has some internal bleeding...he is still in the Hospital at Primary Childrens they say he will be off the bike for many months. He is laying in the hospital bed telling everyone he wants to be out riding his bike (between morphine shots).

Specail thanks to Justin Alvey for taking time to look at our injured riders. Thank you!

Sorry to hear about Wayne, Braxton and Guy. Heard about what happened to Wayne on Saturday night.
What are the details of the Braxton and Guy crashes? What in the world happened???
Aluminum bars are super light! The weight savings over steel bars are significant! We ran them for quite sometime before I figured I'd better switch Robby to his current S&M Small Race and 5.75 Race bars.
Here's the deal. Heat treated aluminum does not like to "flex," and will "work harden" with repeated cycles and break without warning. Based on my metal working background, I recommend everyone who is going to run the FMF and Fly aluminum bars put them on a time change schedule. The heavier you are, the sooner you should replace them and also sooner if you keep taking big "diggers". But I would think for the average folks, say 30 races should be a safe time change interval. When you do change them, cut them into little pieces and throw them away so you won't be tempted to use them again. That's my 2 cents on that!
Wayne, what in the dickens you doing running those bars for anyway?

I'm stoked to hear that those injured riders are on the mend. Take care bros, keep it real and remember to get back on that saddle. Wayne, sorry to hear about the dislocation, although it's better than a fracture. You are solid and will heal up fast. Thanks for starting this posting, I am kinda new to the forum and have had the injured BMXers on my mind all weekend. Always remember...... STAY STRONG!

I agree with Dan and gave Wayne that same lecture Saturday night. Dan, can you guess where the bars broke? Yep, right at the crossbar weld. I also suggested the S&M cro-mo bars and that he replace that aluminum frame with something cro-mo since he has a lot of hard riding on that as well.
I sincerely hope all of our downed riders are OK. My heart really goes out to all them them. This is not Guy and Braxtons first trip to the ER either. I hope they heal quickly!

From what I understand Guy has already rethought racing BMX but not a bike. Once his thumb is healed he's gonna be controlling the throttle on a motorCYCLE. Yes MOTOCROSS.. Anyways Guy if this really does happen We'll all miss you. You've had a great couple of years racing.
I dont know if anyone noticed Max's crash at DP as well some DUMB @$$ (me)forgot to tighten his front wheel after screwing around with it. Talk about feeling lower than worm snot. Sorry for giving you a heart attack Heather I am greatful for what you do for us.
But anyway Max only has a bruised hand, jammed thumb, and a little bit of a black fingernail. But on the other hand his mom while running out to see if he got up stepped in a hole and fractured her foot. Lousy day for Extreme Team.
We wish Wayne all the best he has been so possitive for our kids and they love being on his team. Heal quick!
Our prayers go out to the Foredoms as well. Braxton is an awesome kid and we want him to get better soon.
Guy! Whats up? MX will break more than a thumb! Brett Ladue and I are walking cripples because of MX!
