I would be willing to lend a hand with a camera for some time during the weekend. If I can help let me know.

I'm sorry- my computer has been down for a while...
...what am I supposed to do?
"I just wanna go fast!"-Ricky Bobby
Jason G. knows how much I appreciate all he does. I just suggested that if it's a choice between video and webcast- I vote video...reasons being cuz webcast is one time, and video is longer lasting and covers the same deal- but can be recreated..you all get it....
I was just wondering what direction the site is going- Jason Gallo did a fantastic job of answering that question. Thanks again...
I've written on here before...I'll repeat it...
"There are as many approaches to BMX as there are racers in the sport. My current self appointed role is not to fix the bikes, build the track, webcast the races, build the site to chat about it, create and manage teams, ....although- I have do a little of each of these things...
My self appointed role is to go fast! in order for you guys to your thing, you need guys like me doing mine. Let's not forget the role of the racer.
I'm sure my role in BMX will change. Hey- we are all volunteers- and I appreciate the suggestion how I can best volunteer. I also appreciate anything anyone else does to promote the sport or help in any way. I also think that "helping" is also not being afraid to "ask why or what is the plan!"
If my comments offended any of you, I'm truly sorry. Gallo was the first to respond to my comments and he resolved my concern. The rest of you all- I also appreciate the input. This was not an attack on anyone- and it was not viewed as one...so why the counter attacks?
I'll go back and re-read this thread just to make sure I understand what you all think my role should be? If it's sit quiet and don't ask why or what- I can do that...but I probably won't.
With love and respect!

I was able to use the new design template for the webcast page, and by reducing the viewing windows slightly, was able to get both webcast windows to display side by side, instead of one below the other. This should hopefully improve the viewing by allowing you to view both cams without scrolling. Please check out the page and let me know if you run into any problems:

Well, since there were more than a few people that inquired about the possibility of recording the webcast, then replaying the races thru the site on a looping basis, I have been trying to check into a hard drive video recorder. So far, this is what I have come up with. They are pretty pricey, so unless anyone else has some suggestions for lesser expensive video production equipment, I may have to pass for now. But I'm going to keep looking!!

What is pretty pricey?
The hard drive video recorder.
I really need to learn alot more about advanced video production. When it comes to recording to hard drives and looping a broadcast and all that, I just don't have that expertise..... yet And yes, I have a few sponsor deals in the works that will allow me to purchase additional equipment in the future, or at the very least, return the gifts to our Utah BMX races thru various promotions.

Well, I think overall the webcast project went over pretty well. Most of the feedback I got was positive, and it definitely served the purposed it was created for.
Unfortunately, this past weekend I had alot of issues keeping the broadcast up and running. I believe the issue was with my wireless internet connection, which never really got a decent signal. I think my next steps, should we want to make this a regular feature, will be to figure out a better internet connection, especially during the outdoor. I'm wondering if companies say like Xmission could come in and put up a wi-fi connection, like they do for various locations like Liberty Park. I'm not sure the cost, but it might be worth looking into, especially if we can talk them into possibly sponsoring the costs.
Anyway, I've got several other ideas, but as always it will require time and a financial investment, so I'll keep everyone posted as I move along with this project.
Any and all feedback is always welcome!!
