The walking wounded report.

Postby bnd » Mon Jan 29, 2007 7:39 pm

I saw that Melton is going to be OK after a vicious crash in practice on Friday night. I know there were some other crashes & I wonder how they are doing? This what I know.......

- I talked to Travis White, he took a bad fall Saturday night on the 2nd straight. He is pretty banged up & sore as hell but nothing broken.

Anybody else?

Darla Dale is doing better today. She is a trooper as she wanted to stay and watch the rest of the races with split noggin. Take care and get well soon Darla!

Dallas Edwards got banged up pretty good in his 2nd turn mishap in the Pro-Am semi. He is pretty sore and should be a fined tuned race machine by the next indoor in two weeks.

I heard that Jason Melton had to return to the hospital Sunday night after feeling dizzy and nauseous. Jason is one to always want to help no matter how he is feeling and I believe he over did it trying to help out on Sunday.

Get well everyone and take care,
Steve

I reinjured my shoulder.... again. But it's a recurring thing and I'm getting used to it. And it didn't have anything to do with my trip into the water hazard, just a price for riding this weekend. Heck, I even hurt it the other day just pulling up my socks :(

Wishing everyone the best healing powers!

I took a pretty good spill Friday night in the 17~27n main. I have video but need to get it on here.

I think it looked worse than it was, my wife said I slid on my face for a little while until my legs carried the momentum over my head. Everyone kept asking if my neck and back were ok. lol

I am fine, some road rash on the hand, and my swollen knee is slowly gaining more mobility and decreasing in size. Hope everyone is headed in the right, healing, direction.

Hi All,

Thanks so much for all the care and concern after my fall. It really means a lot to me.

I went to the Instcare and received 5 staples in my head.My elbow was cut also but we got it glued shut. I am all bruised up but I will survive. I am just a little embarrassed. It wasn't my fault, the gate tripped me.

Tiff.. Thanks for cleaning me up and helping to put me back together again.

Crash ( maybe that should be my new name)... Thanks!!! Tell the kids no worries. I will be back in a couple weeks.

Curtis... Taking one for the team!!! I am just glad it was me and not one of the kids. That darn gate. Tell Jenni thanks for checking my tickets. Even though I didn't win.

Jason.. The pipe wrap insulation is a great idea. I am not so sure how the riders will like it though. Thanks for everything.

Steve... Thanks for diverting the attention off of me. You are a wonderful friend. Thanks again.

The UtahBMX family is the best. I enjoy the sport but, its the kids and the families that makes falling down and spiltting your head open worth it.

See ya in a few weeks!!!!

Darla

I want to mention a couple of others:

- There was a girl who got hurt bad on Saturday from Wyoming or Montana. She went down hard and shattered her elbow. I hear it was in six places and basically crushed. She had to go into surgery Sunday and is not able to go home for a week. If there is any way we can find out who this is and have a few of the family go pay her a visit or at least send flowers, thast would be awesome.

- Sunshine (Jeremiah Fazzio) slid out at the end of turn one on Saturday and I think he may have separated his shoulder (again).

I hope everyone heals well. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Curtis,

The girl that got hurt on Saturday was Mikayla (I forget the last name sorry). She shattered her elbow and broke her arm in 6 places. She had surgery Saturday night and was released from the hospital on Sunday. She showed up at the track during the mains. She wanted to thank Tiff Melton for helping her. She was in good spirits even with her arm in a sling.

I am glad she will be ok.

Darla
