I'll warm up this forum! JS at Deer Valley 7-1-05

I spent yesterday- (Friday July 1, 2005) taking the chair lift up Deer Valley. I've never done that before. It was some of the craziest, most excellent biking I've ever done.

Chase and I rolled in at noon. We immediately saw Mark Miller. The road bike nationals were going on. We chatted with him for a while and wished him luck in Saturdays race. He's has had quite the career. We are lucky to have known him in the BMX arena for a while.

Sign the waiver, and free lift passes and we were off! Chase and I are rookies, so we asked the lifties what the best rides were. We ended up having a complete day. A nice mix of Crazy tech downhill stuff, single track stuff balanced with some slalom runs that felt like a 4 mile dual slalom track! We then rode the Norba downhill course back to the car. What a crazy trail that was.

I rode my Specialized Hard Rock hard tail with skinny 2.0's which made my day full of technichal riding, and having to pay attention all the time.
I've got to gets me some suspension!

It's days like this one that make the rest seem mundane!

Variety is the spice of life! The day spent on a MTB was great!

How about ya'll- do you only ride the BMX or what? When are we gonna have an unofficial Utah BMX mountain bike ride?

You must be a man hardtailing on the sweet terrain of Deer Valley. Look forward to playing next time.

We hit up Deer Valley at least once a year. That back section with the groomed high-speed switchbacks are fun as heck & I can cruise through them faster on my P-2 than my full-sus. bike.

I think we ought to have a Utah BMX day up there sometime soon. If you don't have a MTB, you can rent one at a few store up there for around $30 a day.
d rented a badass Cannondale once with ungodly amount of travel & kept up with all the guys.
