Thanks for the support gang! You guys rock twice as much as I do, I am just lucky :D

I was trying to be thrifty, so I sent my bikes by UPS to avoid the airline bike fee rape. The hotel rejected the shipment since I wasnt listed as a registered guest. Heather tried tracking them down to redeliver but they were already heading back to SLC. So I rounded up a couple of bikes to use. The cruiser was the ABA beater that bounces around in the back of the trailer. An old rusted out Standard with 190 cranks and Chicago-style bars. J&R Bikes helped me out and I tried my best to dial in the crusty-cruiser. For a 20" my buddy Hubert "911" Jackson offered to share his brand-new GT Pro XL with me. It was set up way too small for me (I ride a Staats XXL with a XXL stem) but it was a bike to ride.
Results:
Saturday 1st in 36x and a 7th in cruiser. In the cruiser main I was making the move for first around Steve Croes in 2nd turn and he ran wide and Dave Archibald dove underneath. I had nowhere to go but down.
Sunday 1st in 36x and a 6th in cruiser. This time in cruiser I made it all the way to last turn before I got taken down.
I still had a great time racing and didnt get hurt.

I am looking forward to the best national of the year, The Great Salt Lake Nationals! The Utard's will be straight runnin' the joint... Holla' ya' hear!

Steve

Congrats Steve! Looks like you've made an awesome recovery from the bummed knee you had years ago. I met Steve for the first time when we was hobbling around his shop in Ogden, he gave me a few ABA national VHS tapes. I was instantly hooked and started racing again when the season started.

Hey Stevo, how about that color chart? Please email it to moto_filler@yahoo.com

Thanks,

Lee

Thanks Lee. It has been a long road back. I am actually in semi-retirement and not chasing any number plates, just racing for fun and to hang with my buddies at the track. I dont spend any time training specifcally for BMX any more but like to spend time on my bike. So when I do well, it is a surprise to me.

I just got the pdf file with the color chart and emailed it to you.

See you soon,
Steve
