State championship ?s

Postby Pbandj19 » Tue Jul 16, 2013 2:00 pm

I'm still trying to figure all this out...
I know it's your 3 best qualifier finishes, plus your finish in the final.
Is there a state champ for every age group?
And is it the age you are during the final that counts?

The rules have changed for this year, so it's best to read through the rule book for details.

There is a state champion for each age group. It is based on your age at the state finals (best three qualifier scores, plus double your finals score). There will be a state champion for each age group in Nov/Inter, Cruiser, Girls, and Experts. For example, there will be a 14 Nov/Inter Champion, 14 Expert Champion, 14 Girl Champion, 14 Girl Cruiser Champion, and 14 Cruiser champion.

In order to be eligible, you must race 6 single point local races and 3 qualifiers as a minimum. If not, then you can still race the race, but not compete for the title. You get bonus points for single point local races 7-10 (up to 4 bonus points). If you gain proficientcy through the season, then you compete against the group you end up with. For example, if you win 14 Inter at 3 qualifiers, then turn expert and race the finals in expert, your points will go towards 14 X final standings.
