couple great SL nats questions??

he guys I'm hoping some of you might be able to help me with a couple questions on how this next weekends races will go??
this will be the 1st time I will be attending the great sl nats event
my son races in 5 and under novice..I would like to bring him up for the race/s but I'm not sure when(times and days) the 5 and under group races??
I found the schedule on the aba site as far as start times and practices but I'm not sure if ALL groups and ages race ALL 3 days or is there some other format??

thanks for the help...it's really nice to have this forum to ask all my noobie questions

Yes everyone races all 3 days. Everyday is a new day of racing. Qualifying and mains. So you take him to his practices and then race everyday. Sunday there is no practice. Hope this helps

2010 Schedule A

Friday Pre-Race
Registration: 1:00pm - 5:00pm
Registration closes at 5:00pm NO EXCEPTIONS
Race: 6:00pm Awards: 1st - 4th place only

National Registration:
Friday: Fri/Sat/Sun events 1:00pm - 5:00pm |(closed - 5:00pm to 6:30pm)| Sat/Sun events 6:30pm until end of Pre-Race
Saturday: Sat/Sun events 7:30am - 9:30am | Sun event only: 12 noon - 3:00pm
Sunday: NO REGISTRATION - NO EXCEPTIONS

National Race Times:
Saturday: registration closes @ 9:30am (NO EXCEPTIONS ) | Race: 11:30am
Sunday: gates open: 7:00am - corrections 7:00 - 7:30am only! | Race: 8:00am
AWARDS TO ALL IN MAIN


can I register for the whole weekend in one spot or at one time?? or do I need to be at rad canyon for all three different registrations...?
from the looks of it I will need to register him for the Friday prerace on Friday...then on sat I can register him for the sat and sun races in one vist??

how much is the racing per race for these events?

You can save 5 bucks an entry by pre-signing for the races and classes you want to run. Go to this link for pre-sign and follow the directions from there. Then you just show up and race. Hope this helps!

PS. There will be a pre-sign list posted over at the ABA Truck Signups so you can check and make sure you're in for the races. You can pre-sign for all 3 days or what ever you want to do.

You can register all at the same tome and place at the aba truck. You can sign up for all three days on Friday, for sat and sun on sat, but no registration on Sunday

Skip that and do what Dan said and sign up online. Not only is it cheaper, but the sign up line is often pretty long

When you are at the race, they will run things a lot faster than you are used too, so be sure to help out the young one to be in staging early, set up in the gate quickly, etc. He's going to have a ton of fun of this is his first national

since he is 5 and under novice all I need to do on the sign up is check the novice box for each day he wants to race right???
just wanna make sure since the presign ups are "nonrefundable"

5 and under novice is not "USAC Boys" correct???

enter his ABA serial number (the one from his card) and it will pull him up. it sounds like you made it that far. and yup, check novice for each day you want him to race. you can also do the opens if you want him to have more track time/spend more money... that would be mixed open for novice/inter and girls.

correct. that's for the "Jr. Development" stuff--and requires a membership with the USAC.

as to the "nonrefundable"... you can get a credit with the ABA if, for some reason, you're unable to make the race after you've pre-registered. i did this for a national i wanted to go to but couldn't make it... used the credit to sign up for a different national later.. i think that credit can also be used to renew a membership and maybe even buy merchandise from the ABA.

PS: you can pre-register online until 5:00 PM Wednesday.

Another question???? What is the schedule for the week leading up to the national???? Practices on what days and times, and is there any Rad Canyon racing that week?

There is practice from 630-830 Mon, Tues, Wed. Supercamp on Thursday, then practice after that (probably a bit later than 630). Prerace friday 6pm, National #1 saturday 1130 am, and National #2 sunday 8am. There are short age group practices fri and sat. No practice sunday. No local race thursday.
