The "best Utah riders " subject kind of hits on this but I thought it might be fun to give props to people who have made a difference in you or your families racing in some way by sharing positive specific moments.
To give an example, I will start.....
This is from Arielle's journal at about age 11 :
"Alisha beat me again at state. She has beat me every year since she moved here when we were seven. I am sitting in the car with my mom. I had a bad attitude so she removed me from the crowd where I could make a scene. I was so close! I beat her in qualifying, I wanted it so bad. I just don't know why everyone else can't understand. To me its not just a
race, to me it is so much more than that.
Steve Spencer walked up to the window in my car where I was sulking declared that whenever he is having a bad day he reminds himself that he can do at least one thing better than all of the riders around him. He can smile better. [quote]
And Arielle commenting on it , years later:
"This was a pivotal moment in my racing career. I learned something more important than the mechanics of racing. I learned attitude is everything."
Steve is like this. He always has a good attitude and he can see the bright side of things . Thanks Steve!
