The community is really coming together to help out Mike Aitken. On Saturday October 25th, 50/50 Bike & Skate Shop will be putting on a trail jam/auction in support of Mike Aitken. The list of items for the auction is AMAZING! There are new Fender guitars, bikes, parts, skis, snowboards, clothing and more!
Please try to make it out to watch some incredible riding and to support one of our local BMXers who needs our help.
Please keep Mike in your thoughts and prayers,
Steve

Re: Tanner Park Trail Jam / Mike Aitken Recovery Fund Auction
I have had a few people asking for directions to Tanner Park for the Mike Aitken Auction/Trail Jam so here is a link to it:
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&g ... 38452&z=15
The park is formally called Parley's Historic Nature Park but the locals call it Tanner Park. The easiest way to get there is off of I-80 East bound at 2300 East, take the first left (heading East) which is Heritage Way (2760 South), go down a few blocks and you will see the parking lot on the North side of the road. Park and head down the trail to the bottom of the hill and you will find the trails. Please remember that this area is used by a lot of hikers and others walking their dogs so please be courteous and respectful.
The Jam will be going on all day. There is no set time for the auction as of yet but there will be a lot of cool items up for grabs. If you want to ride in the Jam it will cost you a $10.00 donation or more if you want.
Come out to watch some of Utah's best dirt jumpers and local legends!

Re: Tanner Park Trail Jam / Mike Aitken Recovery Fund Auction
I just got back form a ride thru Tanner Park & who do I run into? Fuzzy Hall.
He was there with a guy named Cam & they were doing some work, the trails look GREAT! He stated basically what Steve has said.
One thing, you can also get there off of 23rd East going North. Going North on 23rdE you go thru 33rd South, right before (& I mean right before!) 23rd turns into I-80 there is a coffee shop on the right (East) corner, turn East then follow that road going East & it will run you right up into the trailhead of Tanner Park.
As you make your way down into the park you will walk a few hundred yards until it bottoms out & you see a bridge that goes over the stream up ahead. Before you cross that bridge there is a trail that turns off to the right (SE), follow it.........it is pretty narrow right now & singletrack, follow it for about 100 yards & it will open up into the riding area.
I would suggest bringing something to drink, a good pair of shoes & a jacket.
If you bring your dog, you have to have it leashed until your down into the park. I'm bringing ours but I'll put Jack back on the leash when I get to the riding area. Don't forget to pick up after your dog too!
If I understood Fuzz correctly, Gov. Jon Huntsman will be down there too.
See you Saturday.

Re: Tanner Park Trail Jam / Mike Aitken Recovery Fund Auction
Fuzz just got back from the Dew Tour and wanted to make sure the trails were in tip-top shape for the weekend. Cam Wood is pretty much the trail boss down at Tanner. He has built or oversaw the construction of most of the jumps at Tanner... oh, I cant forget to mention that he is a full factory S&M dirt/street rider so he can ride as well as he shovels
EXCITING NEWS! Mike may be flying home tomorrow!!! That is comforting to know that he is doing well enough to fly back to SLC. He will be spending some time in an assisted care facility until he can go home.
Welcome home Mikey!
